http://us.st9.yimg.com/store6.yimg.com/I/xtremepaintball_1794_44729Look 20 bucks for this buy it and spray the intake with it before you stage if you want to get fancy you could hook up your own system so you can hit a switch to spray the runners and radaitor. cost 60 to 80 at the most.

Cool! {pun intended}

That looks to be entirely a DIY version of the DEI CO2 setup.

I think I'll pursue the fan over-ride switch for now and possibly later an electric water pump with engine-off manual controls. Right now I'm just looking for help in controlling heat soak with run after run after run with minimal staging lane time. I don't want to go to the pits for a cooldown period. I want to RIDE! }(

dont waist your time, the only good solution that will work 100% is a 100 shot of nitrous.

RE: Cooling tips and tricks...

right now I am running 2 pcv valves one on each valve cover summertime. the reason why is that these are one way check valves. my motor has 110k on it a bit of blow by to expell vapors - moisture. there is mucho heat that is transferred from the crankcase temp of oil vapor to the intake. when atmospheric conditions change cooler outside temps I will then revert to the pcv to purge condensation from the oil. I also have an inline oil seperator and I can see condensaion forming when it is cold out. I am tempted to purchase a trans cooler running the lines from pcv valve to it mounted in front of ac condensor. I also have egr delete this is a no brainer as far as how much heat gets transferred to the intake. the next option would be to fab a sheet metal shield behind the radiator fan diverting the hot air down away from the intake rather than blowing 160 plus hot air directly onto the intake. the next step after that would be to fab sheet metal to direct incoming air from front of grill to the intake for cooling. the rear hood gasket can also be removed to allow an evacuation point of under hood heat. I also removed the plastic air dam that is directly in front of the hvac intake. and the gen 2 hood insulation hasnt melted yet or my home brew pvc intake. miller high life the champagne of beers.

I seen that one the other day. Makes sense to have an exit for all that heat. I may try it.

I'm liking the EGR delete better every day.

I did get some thermal wrap on the intake tube. }(
