first step mark viii S.V.T.

I didn't mean it to sound like I was referring to your post, just the general overall subject of the hump.

I should have typed it this way, "True, but if the hump bothers someone that much, they should shop for a 2nd gen." :)

yeah i said you can, but you have to change the quarters and bumper, or you can just cut a piece out of the top of the 1st gen bumper to make the longer gen 2 deck lid fit if you want to go ghetto fabulous!!!

none of the body panels from a t bird will fit a mark, the only thing from the outside of the t-bird that will fit a mark is the windshield.

hey thats nice to know mine is cracked how hard are they to replace? u think its worth trying to get one from a junk yard?

Wow, the start of this post was pretty harsh but everyone seemed to calm down very nicely.
Any way, how much did those entire body kits cost back in the day? The reason I ask is there is a 1st gen Mark 8 down the road from me that has been parked in this guys yard for what looks like years. I just noticed it the other day. It's white and has 4 flat tires. It also has the whole body kit and wing on the back. There does'nt look like there's any rust but I can't get close enough to see. I'm wondering if it's even worth trying to knock on the guys door and ask if he wants to sell it.
Any suggestions?

write a note on a piece of paper and tape it to his door, mention your interest's and put your phone number on it and see what happens.

Im wondering...did the nascar Mark 8 have the hump in the truck lid or was that a 2nd gen?

If not a small version of a duck tail spoiler would look good if done right

i got the wing of of my buddys wrecked 2000 grand prix GTP that i plan on hacking up and making fit om the mark. when i get into it i will cut out the bottem of the wing and set it down over the hump to sort of hide the hump.

Well might as well stir up more contraversey(ie #$%@) J asked for a couple of side shots. please keep in mind I'm going for a "period of time" look. this is what a 95' cobra wing looked like. believe it or not in person it matches the body lines of the mark better than I expected!

I still think it look bad, even from the side. The lines just don't mesh well........ but it is your car if you like it, leave it that way!

Its not AS bad as I first thought...still looks like someone just dropped a wing on it...but thats JMO...if you like it the keep it!

is that a cobra wind molded to fit the mark or is a total one off made to look like a cobra wing? i think it might look better with one out of the 3rd brake lights. i just think it looks kinda dumb to have a brake light in the wing AND in the back window. i think either would be fine but not both but thats just my opinion.
