Hows the gas price in your area?

I made a trip to Southern Ca last week, and fuel was
about 135-140 till we got to southern Utah. Reg was 181,
Nevada was 179-191, So Ca was 169-189. (highest was in Needles
Ca, 214.)
Gas here is 152, diesel is 155. Cheers. :)

RE: Fuel Prices

I think I can get it at one Texaco station here in MA for $1.63, but most reputable places are still at around $1.70 or so.

RE: Fuel Prices

here in Omaha, I pay aobut 1.9 for 91 or 92 octane. Soem Texaco's give a deiscount of 4-6 cents with a "Bakers Card" (grcery store card)

But I don't typically go there.

RE: Fuel Prices

1.49.9 for most regular
1.53.9 fpr most mid-grade
1.64.9 for most premium
1.74.9 for 94 Oct Sunoco

Cheaper on the highway by like 3 cents per gal.
The Jeep is getting REALLY good mileage these days, at 12,000 miles. 27 MPG on the highway & 19 to 20 around town, and zero problems. Just rotated tires & 12,000 Mi. Serv. at dealer. Cond. is still "showroom" ~

RE: Fuel Prices

You can just go here and search on the prices all around the country and even Canada:

http://www.gaspricewatch.com/

My AAA visa card gives me an instant 5% rebate on gas, so I save around $.08 a gallon at current high octane prices.

RE: Fuel Prices

that stupid website is off... It says it is only 1.28 here, I saw it at 3 gas stations today for a 1.19

RE: Fuel Prices

umm... I think it was like $2.08 here in norcal last I looked.

Figures that as soon as gas prices get low (Like $1.60) all the local refineries have "production problems" and there is a "limited supply" so the prices go up.

No one will be able to convince me that its not a big scam.

RE: Fuel Prices

Yeah - Cal. gets scammed big time. Like the "energy crisis" we'll be paying off for decades, and now gas prices that are $.50/gal higher than national average.

Cal. is a demo state, and Bush's buddies control the energy markets - it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what's going on...

Is that what you believe? Give me a break!! Sounds like a great plan for him to win back the state. :-(

Could it be the mismanagement of everything in the state by Gov Gray. If you want to get things under control in Californiia, [link:www.liberty-ca.org/recallgraydavis/|Go sign this petition]

Hi Ya Paul: :)

Geez folks, why cant we have a political forem right below
the "Glove Box"?
Everyone could vent their views, and debate, have differences,
and argue.
I personally think it would step up the intrest.
I realiz this a car club board, but it would certianly be nice
if we could get this option, as we more or less all know each
other, and we have a large playing field;
Im going to post this, because lots may have not been intrested
in the "fuel prices" Best to All, :) Fuz

RE: Fuel Prices

Paul - I was being somewhat facetious, but there IS a lot of truth to the "Energy Crisis" scam. Sure, it was really bad policies that allowed things to get out of hand, but deregulation was lobbied into place primarily by big energy, and no safeguards for a naive public. So companies the likes of Bush friend Ken Lay's Enron took HUGE, obscene advantage of the loopholes - sure, it might have been legal, but ethical? Then when it looked like the federal government was just going to look the other way, Gov. Davis was virtually blackmailed into ridiculously high futures prices. If outrage didn't finally cause some reaction in Washington, (when FERC finally stepped in), who knows what would have happened?

I absolutely abhor online political discussions in forums like these, and shouldn't have chimed in, so I'll just drop it here...I'm here for the cars...

John:
Whats wrong with "online Politics"? I think its great to
agree or disagree with others that have some of the same
intrests.
I dont really think a little political debate could do
anything to hurt any of us. We are all over 21, :), Or
would we ban the kids, and really have a battle? I think its intresting to see others openions. Even Rons. :)

RE: Fuel Prices

Wow, that comment by John was one of the more remarkable I have seen. Bush controls the Dems by jacking them on fuel prices. Good call. Maybe it wouldn't have anything to do with California having enacted the most stringent fuel regulations in the country, all voted on and approved by libs like John.

Just like in the Midwest where we have to use corn and we have over 15 different formulations servicing 5 states, but that is Bush's fault also. Even though the EPA enacted all these Regs under Clinton. A very deep, thunderous laugh follows. Wow!

Edit... this post was made after John's first post but before I actually read down the post list and saw his other posts. I still stand by it. John, I am not attacking you but I think your problems in California were not created by Bush. If you look deeper at deregulation in California, you will see it was companies like Enron screwing Californians under Clintons and your Gov's watch. Actually I don't know if you lean left or right and by reading your later posts, you would prefer not to participate but take an additional second before tossing it out there. Personally, I like to jump on stuff like this, but I am sure it is not fun for all. The broad brush, (which I love to paint with btw), doesn't always apply.
