Got the itch

I've got an itch to get new wheels and tires for the '93.

I'm looking at the following combo:

18X9.5 Shelby GT500 +32MM Offset/5-4.25

Falken FK-452
255/45ZR18 Front
275/40ZR18 Rear

Opinions?

Bah, I've got 18s on the '96 and it ain't that bad. The tires are actually only 200 rated and not the rock hard rubber 400 rated, so that should help.

That particular pic is not an actual representation of the size I'm getting either.

That first wheel is ugly on a 1st gen car. I know you posted the 2nd one for tire ref, but the wheel actually would look ok on your car, IMO.

They're affordable for sure. Are these the ones on the custom wheel shop site? I'm trying hard to justify buying the junkyard dogs for the staggered look, but for the price? I'll probly end up with the chrome speedstars.

That is a nice looking wheel, JP. I think Brad - the custom wheel shop, has a picture of his tbird with them on it, and it looked nice. Here is my advice to you... Either chrome plated or powder coated for a finish - unless you like to spend a day every month or so taking the wheels off and cleaning them with billet polish. Ask me how I know... lol :)

I agree, but I prefer Chrome much better. Another thing I look at is hole sizes in the wheel.

Larger holes are easier to clean than a bunch of small holes. Makes the job go faster and easier with larger holes.

I actually prefer a center cap that covers the lug nut's too. Cleaning in the lug nut holes like the ones shown is always a pain.

This is all based on something that looks good, but is LOW maintenance.

The '93 Employer's had my favorite wheels.

But the factory Chrome 10 spoke Directional MK VIII wheels is part of what really attracted me to the car. No plans to change them for me.

New tint done yesterday. New front struts are here to install in the front end.

The only other wheels I've seen that I care for are uber expensive or not available in our requirements.

There were pictures of a black Gen 2 that was in an accident (front bumper ripped off while in parking lot) and it had the GT500 wheels on it and it looked pretty good.

I like these but would prefer them in 18s.

But the '96 has almost the same wheel but polished.

I was trying to find something different.

Max had those....he ran them into a curb and they still held up pretty good. Pretty stought if you ask me. :)
