Heartburn Problem

Hey Guys,

I never get Heartburn but the pass two week it is killing me.

Is there something in the air?
Any good pills to take to kill the problem?

I use Pepsid AC Complet tablets. Usually only one does it but there has been more than one 2tab nights! You haven't had a bad case of heartburn until you experience acid reflux!!!! This stuff even helps there!

drink a glass of whole milk and dont eat spicy foods. rolaids work for me, a few at a time, tums doesnt, but nothing kills my heartburn faster than a big glass of whole milk, and i get heartburn often and bad, specially after pizza.

Rolaids or tums are instant. They are both calcium carbonate. pepsid AC is like a tums but with Pesid in it. Gives the instant effect with some long term control. Might want to see a doctor. A bad galbladder can feel like bad heart burn.

The first thing you should do is make an appointment to see your doctor and cardiologist, as heart problems and reflux problems can be similar. Then once cleared go about prescription antacids or otc ones. Tums work for quick temporary relief

Mike and JP are right. Unless you've radically changed your diet in the last 2 weeks, something other than simple heartburn is a definitely possibility.

Have you had heartburn before? When I had an inflamed gallbladder I was diagnosed with heartburn and didn't know any better. However, there's acid reflux, and a whole range of other things it could be and I'd really have a doctor check it out.

My really good friend has heartburn from spicy and greasy foods and has had the problem all his life. He was never diagnosed and chooses to just ignore it and keep eating that stuff. He's also probably 80 pounds over weight...

Forum health advise is never the way to go...even on the doctor sites. If you had a rash on your junk for two weeks...you know damn well you'd be seeing a doctor, why not give your stomach and heart the same respect. Lmao!

when my body tells me something is wrong, i ignore it, maybe one day i wont wake up lmao!

Im the same way.
Everytime I go do the doctor I feel stupid telling her all my problem.
Whats the point if she not going to help. Maybe I need to find a new doctor but I have been going there since I was 10 years old.

About 2 weeks ago I had a Michelada beer at a mexican restaurants, After that the Heartburn keeps coming. I love spicy food. Everything I eat I make it spicy. Im not a fan of greasy foods or fried food.
I had my gallbladder check out in 2008 and it was all good. Did not need to remove it.

I did change my diet. Oatmeal and coffee for breakfast and maybe a salad for lunch (If i feel like it).

Thanks for all the good info. I see a doctor in my furture. Maybe she can check out this rash on my finger. I was thinking it was from smoking but I have not had a cigarette in months. weird.

THIS, do this Glen
i buried a lifelong friend two weeks ago. he had the same symptoms for only 2 days.
procrastination cost him his life.

were not talking about a leaking oil filter adapter, this isnt the time to procrastinate

I did change my diet.

DO NOT latch onto this comment as a form of diagnosis.
i was afraid of just this ocurring, and BAM you did.

you dont need to see a doctor in "the future", seriously glen.

hopefully we're wrong, but if we're not... it would be terribly sad to bury you as well my friend.

Just GO, go today, or tomorrow.
worse case, we're wrong... your diet change caused this.
if we're not wrong, TIME IS WASTING, crucial time.

GO!

First time I had bad heart burn in my late 20's I went the doctor and he just said I had heart burn and I needed to start watching my diet.

if i went to a doctor i probably wouldnt come out! i think i may be on the brink of jawbone cancer, i am too affraid to find out.

get to a dr

Jamie.... your attitude sucks..... did you ever think on how selfish you are? I think your wife and kid deserves a better response from you......

THAT is not a radical diet change. If you don't want to go to a doctor, go to an urgent care, at least get the basic tests done, an EKG etc.

unless perhaps you usually had a more substantial breakfast to go along with that coffee? or have recently switched from Folger's to "Extra dark nuclear blast blend" or something.

My thoughts too Mike. Coffee is not a dietary supplement. I frown at the chippies that NEED coffee or a HUGE energy drink every morning to wake up. I have never drank coffee before and despise energy drinks. Pepsi is my guilty pleasure, but one a day tops, usually water when I'm at home.

+1 at Bud's comment.
