Yeah he broke out the flood comment after I had driven 2 1/2 hours down to go pick up the car and I asked why the carpets were damp and why there was some corrosion on anything with bare metal in the engine compartment. At that point, the car was still cheap and I was already there with the truck and trailer so I went ahead and bought it. He was selling it since he thought the head gaskets were blown. He had gone a head and ripped the engine compartment all apart thinking that he would just "get right in there and put new gaskets in it". He stopped when he realized he was in over his head. I bought the car with all of the coil packs, wires, induction, etc... in the trunk. I put it back together enough to where the car should have started. I still want to go and run a quick compression test, but really for what I want the motor for, all I need is a good block, heads and timing cover. All the rest will end up in a trash can when it gets forged internals. As for the car, its not worth the time or effort to put another motor back into it. The front air bags leak, the carpets are damp which worries me about what else may have gotten wet, and the grill is cracked. That all combined with the need for some of the parts for my brothers car made my mind up for me on saving this one.
