Bully for you. A proper mature statement. Hope things work out well for you.

Consider yourself lucky. This is what happened last time a 4 ton box truck blew off his red light.

Berettas do really nice flat spins on dry pavement (I think we went around twice). Especially when hit at 45 mph.

P.S. I was already half way through the intersection. And I completely agree with you. It was a changing experience. Now I look left and right whenever Im at a green light. Its terrible, but you always have to watch out for the other a$$holes out there

You don't need to get smacked to come to that realization, but it helps. I always try to watch whats coming from the side, even at a green light. There are a few lights i'm more diligent about.

When i rode my bike, i got into this habit a lot more. You don't have a chance if someone hits you on a bike, so who's fault it is matters not. I even watch side streets, stop signs, driveways, everything, not just intersections. You never know from which direction an idiot will come. In traffic, you need to be able to predict what people are going to do before they do it. I remember a few potential accidents that i have avoided by knowing someone was about to change lanes right into me without a turn signal, or pull in front of me, etc...

I still watch, but i'm more diligent when i'm on a moped or something. I'm probably going to go back into motorcycle mode when i get the lincoln back, because i'll be PISSED if anything happens to it right after getting a paint job.

Don't you know it's going to make you crazy the first time someones tire throws a rock on it, or some jerk parks close to you a bangs their door into you. I have intentionally parked at the far corner of a parking lot, empty spaces everywhere else, and then have somebody park right up beside me. What ya gonna do?

It happens to me every single day. I commute to college. People tere have absolutely no respect.

I know, i'm gonna frickin flip. But i work on a government installation, and i can usually either park way in the back, or position myself in a large enough spot that someone would really have to try to hit me, or park next to two cars whose trim strips line up with mine. At home, it will be in the garage, more often than not. On the weekends is when it gets questionable, so i guess i'll just have to watch where i drive it and where i park it. I'm kind of used to being able to park anywhere and drive right over anything, so it's going to take awhile to get back in the swing of parking like an a-hole.

If you really want to be safe (from a legal perspective) SUE HER NOW!!! For damages to your vehicle, oher expenses, and for the emotional distress fo worrying about HER kids and how you might have hurt them. Yeah, it's kindof silly, but that seems nowadays to imply success, not failure LOL!!!

I hate to say so but youÕre probably right.

The epitome of adding insult to injury. I don't care how smartly self-defensive it is, you don't sue a family in a Toyota because you are traumatized by their bleeding children.

RE: I Got In An Accident Yesterday. *pics*

After talking to the insurance company they told me that I was covered during the time of the collision. They said they are not going to punish me for being in a wreck. The reason I was covered during the time of the wreck is because I was covered on another insurance policy. Therefore that insurance policy is going to cover the wreck. This means that IF I get sued they will cover me.

I know I'm not being 100% clear on this matter so let me break it down for you in a timeline.

9/08 --- Got Title in my name (in the mail).
9/11 --- Got in Wreck.
9/14 --- Changed Title of Car into my Mothers name for Insurance purposes.
9/14 --- Got insurance.
9/14 --- Insurance Company tells me I was covered in the wreck because I was on my mothers car insurance policy.

This means that the ticket I got will be dismissed in court with proof of my insurance on another car.
Any thoughts on this?

RE: I Got In An Accident Yesterday. *pics*

your post makes no sense. perhaps you missed something in there. did you have insurance on your car prior to 9/8? Why is your insurance company telling you that you were covered from some other insurance company when you yourself say that you had no insurance. and what does this have to do with the title. who owns the title makes no difference.

it sounds to me like you got in a crash, then went and purchased insurance. as for your new insurance holding a crash over your head that was not your fault, they will do nothing about it. they could care less, this all happened before you were insured with them. and if you think they will cover an accident that occurred before you purchased a policy with them, you are dreaming. there is no way they are going to have anything to do with that crash.

looking at your post, it sounds like you may be misleading your new insurance company. they can only base their answers on what you give them until they have time to look up the facts.

as for your ticket. i know very little about texas law, and can only offer an answer based on my experience in general. the ticket you received was probably for "no proof of insurance when requested". did you hand the officer an insurance card when he asked. if not, you are guilty. even if you had insurance, you are required to provide proof of insurance at the time of the crash. it is possible that the judge will drop it if you can show that you are now insured. it has nothing to do with you not being guilty, but his wanting to be a nice guy and give you a break.

Uninsured drivers suck.

I hope you really were covered by another insurance policy, but even if you were you still intended to cruise around uninsured until you felt like getting insurance. That is incredibly irresponsible.
It does not take a title to get insurance.

If you really weren't covered by another policy don't bet that the ticket you got will get dismissed simply because you ran out and bought insurance after-the-fact. You didn't have insurance when you got the ticket, that's what counts.

I don't see why her car was towed except possibly due to the fuel cut-off. It didn't look undrivable.

I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but you seem like a fairly irresponsible person and are causing yourself troubles. Grow up.

At least you have admitted to not having an excuse for some of your mistakes. That is a start. Change your ways (this involves changing your thinking...) before you screw up yourself for life.

If he is listed on his parents insurance, then their insurance will cover any liability he can incur in any vehicle he is driving, whether that vehicle was listed on the policy or not. It seems shaky, but really, it's that way so that if you go and buy a used car, you can drive it home, and if something happens, you're covered. That's also why they ask for proof of insurance when you rent a car, it's your liability coverage that you're using, not the rental car companies. Of course, i'm sure there are insurance companies that don't do this, but in most cases, as long as you are listed on an insurance policy, you're covered. If they find out you're driving that car for more than a day (or a weekend maybe) without insurance, intentionally, they can still tell you to shove it though.

1. But he may have had it. As long as his moms insurance company was aware of the car he had insurnace. I know (at least in NH) you can put a temproary 10 day rider on any car wheather you hold the title or not. As long as that company was contacted 'somehow' he had insurnace, im sorry if you dont like that.

2. That would depend on the condition of the wheel that is hidden behind the telephone pole.

3. Yes. It ain't gonna come from me, but someone needs to flame you. Maybe one of the moderators can help me out... If you happen to really know this person and have a problem with what they are doing, contact them personally. I dont want to read or have other people reading posts from 3000 miles away that attack my or anyone elses character, especially on a car forum, seriously.

Kev your a standup guy thanks.

To answer your questions. My insurance company has record from over a month ago of my calling the insurance company for a quote. Meaning there is record of my looking into insurance. I'm getting a letter from the lady at the insurance company who I have talked to confirming this. I think this might help me out in court along with the insurnace policy showing my insurance on the car at the time. Yes, I was wrong to not have insurance and I realize that but that doesnt mean I must pay the penalty.

This is no excuse for having no insurance. I've already outlined why I was tardy in getting the insurance policy in other posts.

I was told by the insurance company that I needed the title in my name to get the insurance on the car. I was in fact covered which I discovered after the fact by the insurance company. Its a relief to me but doesnt negate the procrastination which got me in trouble to begin with.

RE: I Got In An Accident Yesterday. *pics*

your post makes no more sense than the last one. in one paragraph you say that you should have been insured becouse you called for a quote. that makes no sense. in the next paragraph you state that there is no excuse for you not having insurance. right after that you turn around and say that you were insured.

it really sounds like you are pulling a scam and grasping at any straw. that is why i am asking you to clarify why you thought you had insurance in the first place when you yourself state that you did not. i am not making an accusation, i am asking you to clarify your statement becouse of the way it sounds.

by the way, i am waiting for the title on my truck. the day i purchased the truck i called my insurance company and ordered insurance. they did not ask a single question about where the title was.

Right on, baby. 100% correct.
