It happened on the way to work, in bumper to bumper traffic, on a long bridge on I-75 in Detroit.
A van was braking in front of me, then all of a sudden he swerved to the left, braked harder, and stopped.
I couldn't move to the right because there was a car there. I hit his chrome bumper on his right side with my driver's front corner.
I got out and apologized, as I knew it was my fault. He said we should see if anyone was hurt in front of him. I didn't know it, but the car in front of him hit the car ahead of him.
They were OK, so we went back to the back of his van. I told him we need to get off of the bridge, because there was no shoulder, and the traffic was backing up, possibly causing more accidents.
I had some cash and I offered him 100 bucks for the damage to his bumper, he took it, shook my hand, I got off the bridge and went home to cry.:frown:
