Maaaay get another (sporty) car.... Input requested :)

Thanks Bill lol... over my dead body...

I am for now focused on
a
01-02
E46 BMW M3... I just have to find out if I can get one for the same cost as my Corvette or at least around the same cost... miles are certainly going to be an issue....

I will also check into SRT-8 Chryslers but I am hesitant because I don't want to pay for 12mpg which is what I am probably going to average with it.

Go for the Maserati!! Very nice looking and fast!!

I think you said you change up your cars often. If you don't like trade it in!

Yea it is a nice car (cls)lol... but did you see my budget.. ? 20-30k(tops) I refuse to spend more money on a car and I don't want a car payment.

I would hold onto the Vette for another year or two if I could until the price of a Porsche Cayman came down. Porsche's are the most reliable cars on the road second only to Lexus IIRC. Gas mileage is good but when stuff breaks its expensive. Plus it will get quite a bit more attention then your run of the mil C5. Higher mileage Acura NSX's are in that price range as well in decent shape. Then if you want nothing like you requested, expensive to maintain, can't drive it but god you'll get an erection looking at it and sell you wife to maintain it (I know I would), although by your choice in cars I would guess you aren't married, and that is the Ferrari 348, any year is beautiful you can't go wrong really.

Lastly if you want quality, theres the Lincoln MKX, I think it got some big deal quality award this past year. Its kinda sporty I guess. A couple other cars are the ~2003 Jag XK8, fully restored, great shape Chevelles, Trans Ams, Mustangs, etc,, Evos/WRXs, Cadillac CTS-V, lots of nice cars in your price range and that fit what you want.

I would suggest a Boxster but I can't stand to look at them, plus I think they scream "I want to live outside my means."

Boxter is a POS unless it is the new 07/08 Cayman is ok but kind of odd looking. And sorry but out here they are a dime a dozen and will get no more looks than a C5 IMO... And the E46 is something that I like more...

No way am I getting an old exotic.. i am not ready to put a gun in my mouth and pull the trigger lol.

CTS-V is 35k... and I like the M3 more.
MKX is Wrong Wheel drive and 32k for a nice one... at least.
Trans Ams have the same LS1 with an extra 300lbs and no active handling and odd styling
Mustangs I mentioned... but they would be a step down...
Evos/Wrxs are cars for 16-21 year old who think they are hot ****... at least that is every driver I see in one.
Jag Xk8 is nice but a bit too classy...

SRT 8 Chrysler will beat every one of those cars in most categories IMO (4 doors) and I will not consider anything else... when it comes to 2 doors... options are abit more plentyful.

I guess I may wait a bit until the E92 comes out and brings down the E46 prices which are still sky high IMO. They should be low-mid 20k cars and now high to mid 30k cars.

The new Pontiac G8 GT is coming out spring 2008, MSRP is just under 30k. Go to pontiac.com you can build one right now.

Can I suggest a 02-03 Lexus GS430?

Reliability.... check
performance.... 300Hp, 325Ib-torque ... check
luxury.... check
Great resale value..... check
after market parts if your into modding..... check

GS430 was also on my list before I bought my Vette... but I like the new one (05+) more and the GS350 has identical performance to the GS430.... a bit out of my price range but certainly a nice car :)

GREAT IDEA...355hp 6.0L v8, 0-60 in just over 5 seconds, Looks good, rwd...
Of course the SRT8 300 beats it...If I were you, I would go with the Maserati because of resale value...but the SRT8 is a very nice car and I will take it off your hands when you are ready to re-sell it! lol

The SRT8 300C might beat the G8 GT stock for stock but the G8 is the better package, it looks better, has the better chassis and is tuned to run on 87. Get a tune for premium fuel and it will make 400hp and beat the SRT8 300c in a straight line. In Austrillia their version of the G8 GT is already out and runs anywhere from 13.4-13.9 in the 1/4 mile bone stock... pretty good deal in my book.

Serge the SRT 8 runs high 12s stock... or low low 13s. That said I am not really ready for a new car especially one that will get terrible gas mileage... I think the prices are really going to go up sometime soon and I am not about to invest in something that is going to suck my pocketbook dry. The G8 is nice but will probably be out of my price range.... since I am trying to stay under 30.

And Jesse, no way in hell... for now I am still keeping it... I just got all the bugs worked out *fingers crossed*.

Sierra was our family car back in the early 90s when i wasn't old enough to drive...

My dad never changed the oil on it... he just added 1 quart every week or so for 25,000 miles :D
