My Luck Can Be Yours!!!

So I just walked into an auto parts warehouse in a relatively depressed area of a neighboring town, which to my knowledge, had previously been closed to the public. This place was "Going Out of Business", and as such, had its doors open to everyone in an effort to sell off the remaining stock. Well, lo and behold, right there on the shelf, and covered in dust, were three (3) brand new Osram / Sylvania 9500's!!!!! Needless to say I bought all three, so aftermarket HID kit worries are no more.
As a gesture of good will, I am going to raffle off one (1) of the bulbs. I would ask that Trixie get in touch with me so that I can do this right and within the LOD guidelines.
As soon as Trixie and I work out the details I will get going with this give away. Obviously, the only criteria I am going to set is that you be an LOD member, other than that, the particulars should be relatively easy. Oh, and you will have to pay your own shipping, unless you live in north jersey and want to come pick it up.

Oh how kind! OK, well, I don't know of any rules prohibiting this, but I don't know how to work it out. JP has organized raffles in the past, although I know he's terribly busy right now, I'm sure we can work something out.

I'm sure it's no rush (unless you've got a bulb out!), so I guess we can brainstorm some ideas to make this fun. Maybe biggest Mark VIII repair bill wins or something like that. JP can send me a PM when he has time I guess.

OMFG.. what could possibly cost more than 4k to fix ? (besides bodywork)?

I hit someone going about 25mph.

The impact was enough to shift the header over and inch or two. Didn't look like that much damage, but they thought it was.

Well, that doesn't really count then. Replacing/painting the bumper on a mark VIII is easily a 1000-1500$ job, the hood is $2000 on a gen 1.

These cars are insanely expensive to repair.

I think it should be something different and random. Its hard to pinpoint certain "credentials" to win the raffle and have it be "fair", for example, people like JP, Jeremi, and I do all our own work, so in reality we are only paying for parts which is usually only a 1/3 of the cost.

It shouldn't be fasted 1/4 time or most mods or longest owned or anything like that.

Maybe a "Guess the number, 1 to 300,000." or "How many jelly beans in this jar?". Ya?

Very generous! Why get complicated though, why not have a true raffle. Charge say $5.00 a chance payable by PayPal or in person at Carlisle and raffle off the bulb at the banquet. Winner need not be present. Use the funds to help pay LOD's Carlisle expenses.

Carlisle? LOL, hope no one's needing the bulb quick.

SolipcisticSmile - check your PMs. ;)

OK so do it sooner and let folks buy chances via a PayPal payment. Set a deadline for whatever you want then make a random drawing of the purchasers. Proceeds to help the LOD Carlisle fund. Simple.

My being online this morning was just a random thing, my usual time of day is midnight to 2 a.m., so be midful of that when expecting responses to PM's etc.
The store is located (was located?) in Perth Amboy, NJ (I don't know the address as that's not my town) and although I do drive through there occasionally, I can't say if they are still even open. There really wasn't much on the shelves, but I must admit that I only have eyes for Mustang / Mark VIII / Marauder parts, so there might have been other brand X parts available ( I won't condescend to caring) but I didn't notice.
I've been talking to Trixie and we're going to work something out. I will keep you all posted.

What is so depressed about Perth Amboy lol, my ex lives there and I almost got a town home there with her. It does not sound like it is worth the trip to see if there is anything good left. I have a NIB HID from back in the day so I am good.
