My Luck Can Be Yours!!!

That's OK Bud, we were all new once (some of us not very long ago at all....)

I got them because I have a 98' LSC that takes this type of HID bulb that is, unfortunately, no longer in production. So, as time goes by, I am sure to need a replacement bulb, and being that they are near impossible to find ( Or super expensive if you do) I bought them to be proactive.

Even if I had an older Mark VIII that didn't use the bulb, I probabaly would still have bought them knowing the demand.

BTW, Trixie and I are still kicking around ideas for the give away. I will keep you all posted.

This is the thing everyone, I want this bulb to go to someone who needs it and will use it. I don't want it sold on E - Bay!!! Personally, my optimum candidate would be a Gen II owner who is kinda broke (like me!) who really can't afford to do a spur of the moment aftermarket HID kit with the problems that entails (fitting 9005 / 9006 in the stock housing). I know that I'm being kind of difficult here, but I do plan to give this bulb away. However, I have received numerous PM's warning me of this or that possible scenario (all sent by LOD members with the best intentions), and I just don't know how to proceed now. Any input would be appreciated.

HAHAH...where were you when I needed ONE a few months ago (got a equip ticket from one of Maryland's finest)? Driver's side lo-beam had gone out 2 days earlier! The newer less expensive kits were NOT on ebay yet...ended up out 300 bucks and a long wait to get what I used!! Working great, but I sure wish that it had waited another 3 months to go out!!

Out of curiosity what did you get them for? pm if neccesary.

 I heard he paid 5 bucks.....

Oh man, that was a damn ordeal! Right?

So much drama over a light bulb. Once it is out of your hands who is to say what the recipient will do with it. It is nice that you want it to go to someone in need, but there is only so much you can control.
The raffle idea to LOD members is a good idea. If I win I will put it up on eBay for sale, lol. :D

I think it's wiser to donate it to the club, and then let the club decide what to do with it. Either sell and use funds to better this place, or have it raffled of to generate even more money.

It's just a bulb for god's sakes.

I'm not new by any means. Just dont post on this board much.

"New" isn't necessarily a measure of time. When I see one red lincoln thingy by someone's name that makes them new in my book. I don't care if someone has posted semi -annually for the last 25 years, thats still only 50 posts, still one Lincoln thingy, therefore, still new.

BTW, the guy gave me all three bulbs for $100 tax included.

I'm thinking this may be the hard luck prize at Carlisle, unless I can (or someone else can) come up with an idea I like. I can't sell it on E-Bay cuz I don't know how and don't have any interest to learn. (If I wanted to sell something on E-Bay, I would learn how just to make some new Rim and Tire money on all my original 70's Star Wars toys).

I hope to meet up with Steve soon as we are relatively local and I hope he's gonna teach me how to do my sensor lowering, maybe we can come up with an idea then.

Well, that gives me plenty of time to figure out what I should make go wrong with my car before June. ;) I never win the hard luck trophy, even though something always goes wrong before Carlisle. Then again, we at least have an extra bulb from Hubby's old HIDs.

I wish I could have helped with more ideas, but this is tough, and it's such a generous gesture.
