Gotta remember, Bud just had a birthday.....

Did you remember to tighten the shock bolts Bud? :D hehe

Ya think THAT was funny.....you shoulda seen me trying to get outta the trunk after tightening dem bolts!!! Had to call for help from Penny and a neighbor!!! Got all curled up inside there and couldn't get myself out.....Got arthritis in both shoulders and I just ain't as strong as I used to be!!!

Glad there weren't no cameras around!

what do I do with the rubber stuff on the bottom half of the top side of the shock? the part that stays on the lower half of the shock mount

Do you have new rubber (or poly) to go on new shocks? If so, toss it. If not...I wouldn't use the old stuff.

If you reuse the old mount and plan to replace the rubber bushings, you have to remove the rubber from the old mount. The easiest way is to burn it out with a propane torch.

I used the aftermarket mounts available from a couple different sources.

Here's a pic comparing the OEM mount (top) and the aftermarket replacement mount(bottom).

I used those same mounts on sharon's car. anyone knpow where to get them? I need ot get another set but could nto find them anymore.

From time to time those mounts show up on eBay. I've lost my contact info for them.

Is anyone currently selling those aftermarket plate style mounts like shown above? If not, I'm sure I could make up some here at work fairly easily if need be. I wouldn't mind having a set for my 93 since it started making some noises out back recently.

BTW, if you live in a neighborhood or development, when they start burning real good, you'll draw a number of your neighbors to your yard!!! And they really smell BAD! (I don't mean that NEW kind of bad either) - LOL
