Edgewater - 23rd: Fri. Tune & Test NightGates open at 5:30 pm till 10:30 pm

Tri-State - Saturday(24th) Open at 4:30 Run 5:00-Dusk

OK, now we need to fill in the gaps. Friday nite's probably done if you drive Friday several hours and race till 10:30 pm. So that leaves all day Saturday before racing again at 4:30 pm. We could probably do something Saturday night(depending what time 'dusk' is). We could even stretch it out into Sunday with something?

starting things on the 23rd sounds good to me. if we dont stay until the 10:30pm firday nigth that would leave plenty of time friday night. maybe do some car tinkering on saturday morning then hit the track. and do it all again saturday night. joe is that pole functional in the living room?:)

OK, first lets see if those interested can plan to attend at Cincinatti the weekend starting Friday the 23rd and thru Sunday the 26th, alloting sufficient time Friday and Sunday for travel. I realize no one date will be able to accompany everyone.

Meanwhile, let us bounce some suggestions around for extra-curricular activities. Let's try and make this as inviting for everyone as possible. We can request club funding for a Sunday brunch, Saturday BBQ, a baseball game or whatever else strikes our fancy.

The 23rd sounds great. Does anyone need hotel/motel information? I live in Florence, Joe lives in Independence... Florence would probably be your best bet for decent accomadations at a decent rate. Some choices Holiday Inn, Motel 6, Super 8, Ramada Inn, Hampton Inn, Days Inn, Hilton and others. Where Joe lives is a growing area but no motels. What else? We could go visit Shannon and Desiree down at Racer's.

Just looked at map. 5-6 hour ride - should no problem providing work schedule co-operates.

Jackson, Nashville, Chattanooga, and most of TN.

Cumberland, MD area.
Pittsburgh, PA area.
All of Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio & West Virginia.

OK, OK....

I'll see - I put in a request for the 23rd off work. I really did want to go to the NMRA Ford event in Joliet that weekend, but I'd rather spend time with you guys.

Of course, no trip to Cinci is complete without a visit to the Nudie Bar. ;)

If someone can find a hotel, I wonder if we can get a group discount? Last time I went to visit Joe, et al., we stayed in a Mariott Courtyard that was quite reasonably priced.

Oh - in regard to suggestion for Saturday afternoon - I think working on cars and grabbing some sort of lunch could be nice. Especially after racing Friday night. Just kinda hang out and chat and do car stuff and prepare for more racing.

My gf has always too much fun at these bars. It seems that the dancers pay more attention to her than me x( x( x(

whatever hotel you guys choose - as long it's not a dump, it's all good.

Ok I just did a little research for you guys/gals.

The nicest Holiday Inn in by the airport in Erlanger, KY.
The rates however are 94.00 per night.


The Florence Holiday Inn is $55.20 if you book it now. It has a pool and a bar. I have not stayed in a room there before so I do not know how good the rooms are. I have drank in the bar there with some coworkers while they were in town and it seemed like an average holiday Inn to me. It is in close walking distance to KFC, Arby's, and a steak house I think, as well as some gas stations. A plethora of stores and eating establishments are within 5 miles of this place.

As far as evening entertainment, the Strip club is always a popular LOD event. At least all the ones I have been too :O) The best one IMO is one about 25 mile South of Florence.

There are also casino's not too far from there as well. I have not gone to the casino that way, but I think you can ferry across the river down there.

They do have an indoor european go-kart track in Indianna by the casino's as well. I can call for information about that when I get back in town.

Any eating establishment you could desire is in the area. There is usually someting going on down at newport. For oyu die hard beer drinkers you can visit the only Hoffbraux house not located in Germany.

Clubs--

The red Cheetah is a fun place to go if you like to dance, but closes at 2:30 last time i was there.

Any number of things to do in the area. I am up for drag racing and strip clubs myself.

The Courtyard @ Marriot was like $79, not bad, but I guess the Holiday Inn sounds like the best deal so far for a few bucks cheaper? Let's try to settle on common ground for a hotel with sufficient amenities and onsite nocturnal entertainment. That way if it gets too rowdy you can always stumble to the room! LOL! I suppose one of you local guys should take charge here and select the accomodations asap so we can book the best rates. Just because we all drive Lincolns doesn't mean we can afford a Hilton!
