I had some recent Coil Pack problems with my 05 LS. The car has 122,000 on it so I put 6 new ones on along with new plugs, I put platinum ones on and gapped them to .054. The car no longer misses but has a dramatic loss of power. I will do my best to describe this so I hope the following makes sense. It sounds like it is bogging down or like I have an exhaust headder growl but with out the power, It's a throaty noise from the motor almost like it is starving for either air or gas not sure. It sounds like a four barrel carb kicking in but without the power, almost like an exhaust sound. This only happens when I get on it, after I get rolling the sound goes away and it seems to run fine until I get on it. If I get on it on the highway the sound along with the lack of power comes back. It will also premature downshift where if did not in the past. Obviously it doesn’t shift like it use to either. I am not getting any codes showing up. The air filter was changed at the same time the plugs and coils were. Is there a way to reset the computer? If my tranny is low on fluid (I don’t know if it is you can’t check it) will this affect the engine? Using the existing gaskets I torqued the intake down to 82 inch lbs when I replace the coils and plugs, I don’t think I have any leaks. It also seems to pre-det at higher RPMs regardless of the manufacture of the Higher octain gas I put in it. Any ideas?
