Question on Firing order 2001 SVT 4.6 v.s Mark VIII 4.6

Thanks guys,

Thanks guys,

I was just wondering. I didnt want to be making a harness for an outdated one pin sensor. (that lead had to be moved to the other side and lengthened alot so you wouldnt see it.) Thinking that all new style had two pins. Ok, back to creating more swiss cheese of the fingers with the braided lines. There healed up enough to work on it again. lol

Got the inner fenderwell all done and splitter for the fuel rails will not be seen. Just two hoses comming up and out. I retained the stock quick release spring clamps till i upgrade the lines going back to the pump if i ever need them, and for ease of changing the fuel filter.

The regulator and fuel pressure gauge will go here on side.

Fuel lines done and tested.

Fuel lines done and tested.

i should of pressure tested them before putting them on, but i have no way to do it here out in the sticks. lol I basicly made sure they all were clean with no shavings inside with air hose and then hooked the garden hose up to them and ran it for a while to make sure all dust was out.
Only had one leak back by the pass side rear of fuel log. i took it off, cut it again, restriped it, and put it back together. It's all good now. No leaks up to 20lbs on the gauge. Wont know if it will leak at 45 to 50lbs till i actually start it and it can cycle the air out. KOEO tests hold fine at 20lbs.

Personally I would've kept the lines as short as possible by mounting the regulator closer to the fire wall. All that line is making me shiver ;)

haha i hear ya, i wanted to have it on the firewall too, but i needed to be able to access the FPR and that looked like the only logical place i had left of open space. I tried first to mount it by where the stock lines come in, but it would not fit flush to anything. Maybee ill still move it back there down the road, but i will have to make a cool custom bracket to hold it horizontal facing front where the shock tower cover is now on that side.
this will at least get me running and able to drive the car.

Personnally i think i wasted money on the kit to start with now, after seeing the insides of the stock lines from bottom of car going back. The fuel logs in my opinion are way overkill from whatever HP this car will ever see i'm guessing.
But ive always liked the look of staines braided lines. (that is untill i had to install them my first time.) ;) I'll be using the new summitt twist quick locks lines from now on. Just cut them and put them together.

Jesus Jeremi, you sure know how to

You sure know how to make a guy paranoid. hahah
(Thinking fiery inferno at racetrack, if one of those lines bust loose)...
I cut down the front and refitted them and moved the regulator back to the firewall. Hopefully i can make it fit back there like in pics.

On a side note....Does it matter if the Aeromotive regulator is mounted sideways, or at an angle?? Or does it have to be horizontal for the spring to work right for the regulator without rubbing internally?

Hey Jeff, not sure about the mounting of the Aeromotive afpr but is that a 99-01 cobra throttle body or stock gen 2 throttle body you have on the intake?

Serge, wow, You know what? I don't really remember. hah That thing has been on there since we did the swap. It was so long ago at old house and i had like three different intakes and fuel rails torn apart at once i kept buying of the auction site. I fanagled everything together just to make it work.
I do believe its my stock 95 Lincoln Mark VIII throttle body. I'd have to go digging in the parts bins of my 1995 stuff to make absolutley sure though that my stocker 95 Linc one is missing off the intake. Pretty sure it's just the stocker 95 Mark VIII one though.
I did buy the 2001 Cobra side mounted idle air controll unit though cause my stocker was giving me troubles with idle in this intake and it was clocked upright insted of laying down like this one does.

Thanks Driller for the input on the FPR. I didn't think it cared which way was up, but it Is a spring operated valve you crank down with an allen wrench internally to set the bleed off to go back to the tank, so i wasn't sure if it would mess with it if i set it at an angle or not.

Nope, its just a stocker

Nope, its just a stocker

Yep, i still have the original Mark VIII TB still on the intake with all the new sensors. That one must be a stock Cobra throttle body that came with one of my intakes i ordered back in the day.
