Serious engine noise!

The only thing that causes noise in a sound system is the components and the electrical system, ATLNATOR and the grounds. Moste GOOD BRANDS of amps have suppressers in them most likely its coming from the head unit and the RCA cables going to the AMP, USE GOLD PLATED INSELATED RCA and run them on the other side of the car from the amp power wires. If you run the power direct from the battery to the amps TWIST the wires (+and-) around each other this will help the power wires to not pick up interferences.
ALSO I HAVE HAD ALTNATORS MAKE NOISE BECOUS THE CONECTOR PLUG WAS OLD YOU MAY MEED A NEW PLUG THAT GOS FROM THE ALTENATOR TO THE BATTER
 
im chasing the same prob now in my car. i found a little black box at wal mart called a ground loop something i forgot what it was. i plugged it in and i lost about 90% of my sound so i took it back got another one plugged it in and it worked fine. i had all of my sound and no humming noise well that lasted for about 2-3 months then it let its majac smoke out and there wet my sound again. so im not currently running with out anything but alot of hum. look on the up side at least you know your fan is working!!
