Sweet... how was the roadtrip?

Havent done the NY road trip in a long time. Road trips rule. Nice find. It hurts my eyes to see that salt on her. haha Dang i dont miss that. Thats why people buy beater front wheel drives for the winter rats up there. Glad to see her cleaned up.

omg i just deleted everything i wrote to you dam it. i guess i need to pul lthe wheels off this weekend and see whats behind them, should i take some pics jeremi for you to see because like i said this is something new to me and i just want to be able to hit the brakes and not get this vibration from the rears like i am getting.

You can snap a pic but I bet you need those rings in there. Ever seen a rotor that wasn't hub centric ? (well you will when you take the wheels off ;)) There is always some play in the stud holes, even if they were drilled correctly. That's why the rotor needs to be centered via hub, and not via lugs. Same goes for the wheels. OEM stuff always fits tight, and is vibe and issue free.

ok that was 25 shipped for those? i was told if i did take the rear wheels off the rotors would drop so it sounds like what i need, and you have done this i havent so i'll go by your word!! whats your paypal i want to fix this problem asap since everything else is so sweet on the car, i cant have crap brake problems!!

wow...friggin WOW. I need to pop in here more often.
great story Jamie....great pics...

I noticed Cali plates on one of the gen 2's....

since I haven't been here, can you(or someone) save me some huntin' time...

who'd you buy the car from?

such a cool story....nd seeing two Black gen 2s parked outside must bee sweet.

N/M....just found the other post about it, pre-purchase.
How does one get a car from calif to Conn, and let it sit for 2 years in a garage without ever registering it(cali plates)

regardless...awesome car.

Craig, did you know someone stole your mark 8 pics from wiki and have been using them on ebay?
flattering..huh?

Tommy...yea...they do it all the time.
I guess it is what they say-the sincerest for of flattery....them LIARS!

lol

Jamie...the more of these "my new Mark VIII" threads I read of yours, the more I realize, you have probably owned more than anyone else has.
I wonder if Wiki should know that.

I can send you those rotor rings for say $25 ? Let me know if it's out of line.

I am surprised about the spacers in the front. Those wheels shouldn't need them, at least that's what CWM tells everybody ;)

Take the wheels off, and see if the wheel hub centric rings have any play when installed onto the hub. They might be stuck in the wheels. If the rings are what CWM sells, they do have play, since the hub is not 63.9mm and their rings are. They should be 63.36 ID as per JP's measuring skills.

Sorry to thread jack Jaime........... Jeremi, JP, so you guys are saying we need 63.36 hub rings if we are running the saleen replicas like Jamie has? I do have some vibration at about 55 with those wheels that I learned to live with because, who drives 55 anyway?

Jeremi, JP, so you guys are saying we need 63.36 hub rings if we are running the saleen replicas like Jamie has?

If you need hub rings, the hub ring ID needs to be 63.36mm.

63.36 definitely works.

I measured my hubs with a digital caliper and they measured right at 2-1/2" or 63.5mm. I found sources listing the MN12/FN10 hub diameter at 63.4mm.

I ordered a set of 71.12 OD x 63.36 ID plastic hub rings from 1010tires.com . They confirmed the fitment prior to shipping and they fit my wheels and hubs perfectly.

craig the previous owner lived in cali, and moved to ct where the car sat, its still legally registered, he let me drive home on the tag and insurance, his name was tom, he is in the navy, and max said he remembered that car coming to a cali meeting once. he owned the car for 7 years before i bought it. tonight on my way home i dicovered something is dead in the duct work and smells disgusting, now i have to rip the car apart, unreal.

Jamie, I just saw on tv, that the rat and mice carcase funk smell will go away after 5 days. Too bad just the thought of it being in the car is enough for me to rip the car apart to find it.
