thank you so much for all the pictures
I am much better prepared to remove the engine when I do my swap
you have helped me out alot now I know that Im takeing mine out the top as I dont have anyone to help me nor do I want to jack the car up that high .... I know it will take longer but I dont think it will be that bad I will disconnect and remove all the gimo's and gadets and remove the radiator and anything else that gets in my way even if that means the whole front clip :) it will give me a chance to throw out all the stuff that I wont need and adds weight .... gee I wonder if I anyone makes and aftermarket tubular k member or if I could adapt a mustang unit .. Im just thinking out loud cuz that seems like a good way to reduce weight ... any way thanks again for the pictures

Eli thanks alot for the help, I did alot of research and you more than anything helped out the most. I do appericate it.

I figure its gonna take a few weeks to get it back in and running. we're having our whole inside of our house being re-done so I have no clue as to how much work I will be able to get done on the car.

they do make aftermarket k-members, I know joe(ponyfreak) had one and sold it, ask him.
as far as weight, theres not much you can take off the front of the car, the suspension pump and the front suspension and abs stuff are probally the biggest weight, besides for that not too much matters. that you can take off, but then again I don't know your exact plans. but when you go through let us know what you do.

just one more thing, if anyone needs any specific pictures just let me know and I will gladly post all requests. I keep you guys updated on everything.

I still think that it will be easier coming out the bottom, help or not.

*update*

here are some pictures of the engine almost ready to go back in. I have to attach the intake and get the vacuum lines and I'm all set, should be in by monday and hopefully started monday night.

RE: *update*

RE: *update*

I'm going to hook it up and see if it works when the intake goes on. it doesn't line up exactally so hopefully when its bolted to the intake everything lines up. if not i'll just get a high temp hose.I can't afford to have the chip re-burnt now and I don't want any check engine light to affect performance just yet. I figure it shouldn't be too hard to delete it if need be, considering its a new tube thats not rusted to all hell.

RE: *update*

the engine went in today. it actually went it fairly smooth. me and 3 of my buds got it in, took like an hour to get it aligned amd bolted up right. I plan to get most of everything hooked up and hopefully started. maybe I'll take a video of it running too. More pics.

RE: *update*

RE: *update*

Keep up the good work and pics. We all enjoy the visiuals, lets some of know which end of the car to get under. I wondered what the gas tank lowered looked like and now I have my answer. The headers certainly look great.

RE: *update*

Steve,
I just got around to looking at your tranny cooler pics.
Is that a B&M 70297? Is the fan motor reversible? Many of the other
brands specify that in their adds but B&M doesn't. Since it's a DC
motor it should run both ways, but some high tech DCs don't.
Just thought I'd ask someone who had actually had their hands on
one instead of some parts store counter jocky who's never even
seen one.
Thanks,
Mel C.

greenguy...I apologize...I missed this thread! I dont usually peek into the technical parts of this site.

I just did a swap like this last summer...97 motor into a 95...so I know exactly what you have been through.

man, I sure with headers were legal here in calif...I would have much rather dealt with those, and the manifolds we had.

Nicely done...dropped the K-member...smart man.

RE: *update*

Everything went in fine. it started with no problems and has been running great since. I have a custom exhaust with the old xx pipe and with lms mufflers I had on my 93. sounds insane, I've had more people ask me where I got it then ever before. They'll just drive up next to me and be like that sounds awsome. sorry for not really updating this thread however I noticed this site doesn't update as much so I for the most part stopped wandering around here.
