another option would be to buy a reprogramed valve body and have your mech. install it. or have him remove yours and send it to some one to have it reprogramed(if its not a 97-98 your better off buying a reprogramed v.b.) just my 2 cents

Sounds like you just need to reprogram the shift points in the chip and it will cure all your problems. Why spend extra money when you don't need it?

Also....you can do the JMOD yourself....or find a different mechanic (transmission shop) that will follow the instructions. DO NOT let them do their own JMOD....per instructions ONLY. Or do like Merk recommended....a valve body swap is super easy!

For those that may get confused, 4th gear IS OD(overdrive) and can be turned off with the shifter.

This sounds easier though. I like everthing else the chip has done.
