WTB: broken anti-sway bar bracket

I have a set coming from DLF and with what I have read about his work-Long after the rest of the car falls apart into little pieces, The anti-sway bar brackets will still be attatched.

Yes, his design is far superior. Kind of like the front sway bar. Bolts on both sides of the bracket. The end link will break before those brackets do. Not only did I shim them, but I used two nuts on each bolt...the nuts tended to back out on their own over time.

Now for the jokers, comedians, and jesters out there, I'll go first: "That's what she said"

If the end link bushings do not flex and allow full articulation, the end link will bend and yes, it could transmit enough of a moment at the bracket to break it.

+1...though figuring out just how much to torque down the end links is not as easy as the instructions indicate. Doing what they say is not enough; I had to torque them down quite a bit more for some reason I do not now remember - they made noise, or something like that.

Here's a pic of what comes in a kit.

Barry, yours is on the way. ;)

Got them.
Thanks!!!

So
I started the install today and started with the broken side. I have all the nuts loose. I am having trouble getting the bar to line up correctly. The links are leaning forward and the bar is high at the links. I have tried adjusting each bolt in order (like changing a tire) to try and bring it into place, but no luck. I never fully removed the good bracket and I'm a little afraid to do so if the bar moves to much to reinstall.

The car is up on ramps (rear) and at cruise level.
Should the car be level on the ground?? Or what could I be doing wrong?? I don't remeber having this problem before.

Also, the end-links were not over tightened if anything they might have been loose. Hard to tell though with a broken bracket.

Sounds like your current end links are too long.

Remove the end links. Remove both of the old mounting brackets and bushings.

Re-install the bar using the new brackets.

Put the car on it's wheels, level the sway bar ends and measure for the correct end link length. You can shorten the center tube of your current end links if necessary.

Unless something is really bent in the back of your car, you shouldn't have a problem.

That is what I was thinking, but I don't remember this being an issue when I installed them. I guess it was and I did not realize it at the time.. ???? I don't know.

Anyway- Thanks!!! out to try again.

Got them both done, but one last question. I put the car flat on the ground and drug myself under the car (time for a new LOD T-shirt LOL) the end links are tightened to the end of the threads and the bar is still slightly up at the parked level and both end links tilt forward. I think when the car raises up the bar will be level, but that seems it should be the other way around to me.

Do you think I got the wrong end links from some unnamed company?

BTW I took it for a drive- And I have to say THANKS DLF!!!!

The end links tilt forward because ADDCO can't make the bar correctly (the bar ends are too long), I have the same issue.

The bars ends need to be close to parallel and you can adjust that by shortening the spacer tubes. Check and adjust when the car is at highway ride height. And you're correct, as the car raises the ends of the bar will come down a bit.

You're quite welcome.
