I used a heat gun on the outside and windex on the inside. I then carefully peeled most of it off. 3m makes a great adhesive remover that can be found at any paint store which I later used. And if you need a little extra scuffing power try non-scratch dish pads.

Ok so I was finally able to take the 5 minutes to check the fuse and wouldn't you know it was blown. The best part about it was that fact that the previous owner must have had the same thing happen to him. Rather than spending the whole $2.78 to buy a new fuse he instead looped both connections...

So I noticed that today it was active while in 2nd and then went away when it shifted. Hmmm...the noise has become increasingly more noticibly. So my radar is up.
