I had the console out to change the cup holder and ashtray combo and the lighter was pretty loose. So decided to investigate. And was just not worth putting back just to pull it again.

Pulled the fuse and taped and tie wrapped loose ends

Just wanted to know if removing it and the ground would cause any issues...When I finda new assembly I'll reinstall it,as I've become an expert on removing the console.

Excellent...Yeah I know what you mean...I forgot to plug that stupid wire in the first time myself. But as long as it won't affect anything I'll just leave it out until I can locate the original part. Thanks for the assist.

My lighter gave up the ghost....Just want to delete it if I can't find the OEM part. As the aftermarket units are incorrect. The question is what about the ground strap for the radio surround,that wire just goes to the lighter. Will I be ok without that ground? As always, Thanks in advance.

Looks like I'm going to have to get in there and play around with it and see what happens....But waiting until it isn't a kabillion degrees in a car with a black interior..

I was thinking along that line also....But wouldn't you need temp modulation for defogging reasons. I know.....Just open the window and shut the hell up. Lol

When I ran the test I watched and had my fingers on the gray arm...It didn't move more tgan a 1/4 inch....I'm going to assume it should move mlre than that.

You've read me right Drillman.... stays constant cool till 90.then its the tropics. Sounds like I've got a new issue..Maybe I'll have a sticky named after me. :-)

just to update First of all,thanks so much for the help. I've put 24oz in an ac has gotten colder and compressor is running well. But as I stated in the OP the temp still stays constant throygh the band from 60 till 85....Then I hit 90 and whammo...Full on heat. From all I've read,this...

The weather strip on the bottom of the door...I'm sure its removable,but is it salvagable or do I have to make stuff up? ;) Asking so I can take care of that light rust issue alond bottom door lip. Again Thanks in advance. Al.

Thank you much...I only dropped in a bit to get it to cycle..just didn't expect a short cycle. The can I'm using is 24 oz. Will post results later.

Hey everyone...Compressor wasn't cycling at all so added a little freon and started to short cycle...Off for about 8 seconds and on for 2. Gauge on store bought freon kit says about 45 psi when off and about 23 psi when on...the 45 psi is in range of outside temperture. Is it a good idea to keep...

BTW....I now have a CEL...Pullled my code reader and got P 0174 Too lean on bank two....Question:is there any way that something got knocked out of place? Because with that code its either a MAF or an o2 sensor IIRC.

Kirk...When you have it done,ask them to hold the old parts....I was surprised I'm still alive after I saw my 15 year old suspension parts. **** was flopping in the breeze....But no slop in the wheel. PS. My bags will be replaced at a later date...But they are fine as of now.
