1-2 feet of snow. I can't wait to take the Mark out to the parking lot

We're supposed to get a foot or more in Chicago over the next two days. I stopped by the store after work and stocked up on food so I won't have to leave home all weekend.

And wouldn't you know it: I got in my car tonight at work, and got the "Door Ajar" message for the first time. And guess what? The door was really ajar! It wouldn't latch no matter how many times I slammed it. Considering my car sits out in the weather, I was more than a little annoyed. Anyway, I had to hold the door shut all the way to the grocery store and got a can of WD-40 while I was there. That door is HEAVY when making a turn! About pulled me out of the car once.

I was thinking I'd have to rig up an extention cord and tie the door to the shifter tonight or wake up to a pretty drift across my console in the morning. Thankfully the WD-40 worked. For now.

Mark, You have the devil's car. Stanley might have the "evil one", but you have Satan himself. I have never heard of so many freak things happen to a un-modded, well taken care of, car. My advise... Call a Priest ;)

I hope to finish office hours and do my hospital rounds before this thing hits later on today. Evening dinner plans are cancelled.

H2....all the way. It is a "snow plow". My boss just bought one...he was in the Lake Tahoe area a few weeks ago when they got 9 feet in 4 days....it drove like it was on dry pavement. I saw a couple pics he took...the snow was 3 feet in some places....and he never got close to getting stuck.

I am amazed at how well that little 6.0 liter engine moves that 4-ton monster...oh, and it drives smoother than any british "SUV".

Maybe its just my love of power/massive machines/brute force...but when I see a black H2...I just plain want one. Worth $55k?...I dont know...but if I could afford one, I'd get one(if I needed an extreme 4X4) but I dont.

I had the same thing happen to me. The lock actuator boots is prolly broken, and the water got inside of it. Does the lock go up and down on that door ?

Craig,

I love the H2. Infact I looked at it when we got our Escalade ESV. Went with the ESV because it was more family friendly. The Rover I looked at was going to replace the mark. What can I say I love the mark, but always wanted a Rover Discovery. The one I looked at was used and comes with a 5yr 100k warrenty. It was okay, but I don't think I am going to buy it. Wife says we have to many cars now and I am at a toss up as to what to keep the mark or buy the Discovery. Leaning towards keeping the mark for now.
