17" wheel question

This has probbly been asked a bazzillion times. Are 17" wheels large enough to accomadate upgrades to larger brakes?

Depending on the design of the wheel, and what you mean by larger brakes, yes, they might work

I was thinking the commonly installed cobra brakes. You answered my question as far as that it is not safe to assume all 17" wheels will have enough room.

Bingo. Although Cobra calipers are pretty forgiving clearance wise. Are you planning on hub swapping it first ?

probably not, but not ruled out. My front hubs are pretty new. Plus I would have to buy rear hubs. There are still plenty wheels out there that fit the mark 8 pattern.
