Found this on the 'Bay - a 1994 Gen 1 was stripped of its' body and a 1947 Lincoln body was put on the frame. Here's the description:

A 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII was fitted with a highly modified 1947 Lincoln body with most of the Mark VIII systems working. Only the automaic door locks and automatic seat adjustmennt do not work.

The modifications to the 1947 4-door body are as follows:

Copped 3 inches, sectioned 3 inches, shortened 9 inches, made into a 2-door, tilt-up hood, handmade dash, headlights recessed, additional pair of original taillights installed, all chrome redone.

Have a look:

This reminds me of the 1950 Ford body kits for the 1996/1997 Thunderbirds but way more involved. It's interesting but not for me. West Coast Customs did similar with putting a 1968 Dodge Charger body onto a 2011 Charger frame.

This type of custom is pretty common. Tha is putting an old body on a newer chassis. You see it allot with 4x4 trucks.

Well, the wheels stick out like a sore thumb, but all-in-all, I like it. I'd drive that car.

Much, much better than the "replace the front clip and call it a day" mod.

edit: after looking at the photos, the whole dashboard is a bit of a train wreck.

Nothing a supercharger wouldn't fix though. :D

yea, the body is nice, with all that work why not get better rims and do better dash work. maybe they ran out of time and money. It is 80% there.

Yes. The wheels look horrible. Plus they look to far into the front fenders. Maybe it is just the picture.

Another custom you see alot lately is people putting older bodies on new high performance chassis such as a vette, camaro, or stang. I wonder if a Mark8 body could be fitted to a newer chassis.

I looked at those pics a bit more. That dash does look like a butchered mess. I think the engine compartment looks uninspired for an old school rod. I love the look of the reskinned 2 tone leather seats.
