I know my wheels are on funky! It motivates me to do a hub swap and buy me some wheels.:smile-purple:

Interesting, i did not think the 20 spokes were an option on the ce lsc in 98, they look great.

Honestly, I wish they weren't. JMO, but I hate them. I would have liked almost any other wheel better. As for the car, it's in nice condition. The paint isn't perfect, it has several small scratches. I think I can get a lot of them out with a buffing wheel. It looks great from a far, but its far from great. Mechanically though, the car is in very good condition.

I have only seen CE with the 10 spokes and octastars before, but the CE should have had the 10 spokes since they had a plastic black Lincoln logo in the center cap exclusive to them. My guess is they were switched at some point in time. Lots of people like the chrome 20 spokes, maybe you can do a swap.

It is in much better shape and is quite a bit more presentable than my 97 'Half Breed' Base. One day I hope to have mine visually as nice as your example. And it is already an LSC to boot!

I love me some Cordovan! Very clean lookin' car.

I bet the original 10 spokes where replaced because they were peeling piles of scrap, mine were. I wanted Octi's but ended up purchasing 20 spokes, not my ideal wheel but they don't leak, were cheap and are in pretty dang good shape.

Honestly, they look really nice on the lowered example (not that they look bad on the stock-height example either). They look better than the 'SnowFlakes' (that is purely my opinion).

(Although, I have seen some SnowFlakes that were done up nice and looked quite nice)

These are the only Snowflakes I like. :)

i hate snowflakes.
i like the chrome snowflakes because they are impossibly rare. i've never seen a set in person. and only like 2 or 3 sets in pictures.

and there is nothing wrong with chrome 20 spokes. they are classy.

I agree. They are classy. Thats probably why I don't care much for them. I guess I'm not going for classy. Eventually I want it to look tuff, mean, bad ass, or... you get the picture.

From the imagination dreams come. From stock, those dreams can come true. Everything starts out stock at one point in its' life. Bad-ass will grow from stock.

(You see what my car started as in the topic below you, and you can see what wheels I will be going with in the 'Wheels and Tires' section of the forum. From stock to what I want)

Here is my VII that is now retired. I have never had a car I enjoyed as much as this car. I thought my VIII might scratch my itch, but so far... not even close. Thats not to say that with a bunch of mods the VIII won't be fun. It just isn't my VII.:frown:

Before matte black paint

Since the VII was heavily modded and you are comparing a stock VIII to it, I would have to call foul. :) Mod the VIII in a similar manner as the VII and see where they stand comparably. Are you going to go Matte Black treatment with this VIII or do something devious with the cars current Cordovan color? Mustang wheels are just a front hub swap/rear hub re-drill away!

I understand. :) No matte paint for the VIII. I don't think it would look good. Plus some of the peeps here might lynch me if I mess up the looks of a CE. :smile-purple: I have my parts for doin my Jmod, that is the 1st mod. The way this trans shifts, drives me NUTS!! Then a trac lok. From there exhaust and in the spring, if the car has gotten under my skin, a super charger, and a crap load of sinister mods.:eek-large:

Sounds like you have a very clear direction for the car, which is more than I can say for most of my builds. I have a general direction I would like to go with my VIII; we'll see just how close I stay to that!

I will agree with the Jmod, as I had it done when I had to have the trans rebuilt (short on time and space or I would have done it myself). Even with the mild Jmod set-up, it still responds nicely and has good shift characteristics; a vast improvement over stock. When I add the 4:10 gears and trac-lock, I think I will tweak the Jmod just a bit for a little harder hit. It was well worth doing!

Being I am more a corner-nut, I plan to lower mine, add some ADDCO sway bars, add front and rear subframe cross braces and subframe connectors, Cobra brakes on swapped/redrilled hubs, and a nice set of wheels/wider/stickier tires. Then I have some other mods that will reveal themselves in time (visual as well as functional mods).

I hope you keep posting here, as it is cool to see others ideas and execution with these cars.
