has a vss so you should be good to go.
remember you may need to repin or swap some wiring depending on what year car you swap it into.

Well it's in my possession. Didn't look at it really close to see if she will plug in correctly, it didn't come with any wiring, I'll post some pics of it soon. I'm also looking on eBay right now for a stall converter, I don't want anything less than a 4k rpm stall, found a few for about $375 and thinking about clicking the buy button ^^

It's going in my 97 base

I would add Precision Industries to the short list.

IMHO, you have 3 levels to choose from... top tier 'race' converters which cost about $3K or more, 'quality' street/strip converters for $800 to $1100 and then the 'economy' converters which are nothing more than stock converters or modified stock converters.

The stock Maurader converter is probably the lowest price converter I would recommend. I have had good experiences with Circle D, Precision Industries and DirtyDog Performance for street/strip converters.

I would recommend a 3600 rpm stall as the maximum street converter.

Any high stall converter will require a good transmission cooler. Higher stall speeds add tremendous heat which dramatically shortens the life of the transmission fluid.

Don't buy an Edge single disc. They're junk. I suggest a 9.5 or 10" unit with a billet cover. A single disc in any brand that driller mentioned is a good choice. He has more seat time than a lot of us. You'll have better customer service and backup of the product with warranties as well with the bigger names than some random ebay store. That alone justifies the extra cost.

Nice find. I'm about to put both mine up on a bench and see whats really inside the old Art Carr one. My new one is like yours ill have to take out the circuit board setup and put all my wire setup over into the new one. Take us some pics and add to post please. There was a how on this a while back with pics, Me and Eddie did one on his car using that write up. We added pics to it. Not sure if we can find it, but ill be digging for it when i do the swap over. I'll be watching your post.

Well the transmission is in my possession. However, I didn't know I had to re-pin the transmission and since its been super slow at work lately, I don't exactly have the finances to repin the transmission, put on the jmod, and buy a descent stall converter before I can even think of throwing it back in... seems like this is going to take forever..

Just Jmod, re-pin and install a good cooler for now. That way you can enjoy the car and save up for a good torque converter down the road. If you keep waiting for parts/money it will be 7 years before you get it done.

Sure you will have to drop the transmission twice but it really isn't that hard.

Plus one on that. The first two are easy to do and cheap. The torque converter will kill you though. Still contemplating on what im going to use also when i do it.

Ok so I'm getting around to putting this transmission in this week / coming weekend. Here's what I got of the Transmission. I didn't take a look at mine to compare and its been several years since ive done one of these changeouts, can I just use the parts from my existing transmission to put in here? If so, what needs to be changed?20160108_122332.jpg20160108_122336.jpg20160108_122342.jpg20160108_122345.jpg20160108_122350.jpg
