Because it has 4 doors vs the two door Mark Vlll I feel cramped. I haven't really put much seat time in it, but my feel is that cu.ft. is probably same. I would love it more if it was two door (wide azz).

Have your son drive it to Chicago behind you and your MK8... :D

That way we can compare and contrast the two.

I'll even sweeten the deal... I'll give him a dollar if you tell me he was able to keep up with you... :D

Joe-Sorry I can't meet up with you good folks this weekend but I have a friend down the road who brewed up 150 gallons of great German Beer that needs to be consumed this weekend and I am going to push myself to help him. I know I would loose the race to Chicago (fuel stops), but If you go to the South Side of Chicago with that 1 dollar their will be a whole bunch of new SHO's for you as that's where they are built.

Congratulations to you and your son, Charlie. :) My daughter and son in law just bought a 09 Fusion Sport, and they love it. Ford is making some nice cars these days.

We should start a "BRING-BACK-THE-MARK-VIII" web site kind of like the one that brought back the SHO !!

Nice SHO! I work at a Detroit metro Ford dealership as an internet coordinator, I'm not a salesman. We got the Taurus in on July 28th. My favorite color is the Red Candy Metallic Tinted with the 402A package, and adding the 58N Voice Activated Navigation System it comes out to $37,895 with the Ford A/Z Plan. That's before adding the tax, plate, doc fee, etc. The actual window sticker for this car can be seen here:

They don't sell MSRP and if you don't have any of the Ford A/Z/X Plans they'll normally sell for about $200 above the X-Plan price.

That is a nice color. I looked out my window the other day looking all my neighbor's cars on the street and said to myself, no one gets a “color” any more, they were either silver, black or some where in-between, white, or some sort off-white. No red, green, blue etc.

This is alittle of topic
But I've read yall calling the mark 8- "MK8" ........so is the MKX a Mark 10? :)
BAN!!! :p

Congrats to Jr. Roadboss! I'm glad Ford can make a sweet GT sedan again. The interior is nice-looking, and the Sync system is hard to beat. A friend recently bought a Focus with Sync and he (being a software engineer, mind you,) took about 20 minutes to show how it can be set to either display or read aloud the content of his incoming text messages while he drives. And as far as future 2-door TRUE Mark/MK cars go, it seems to me that the market for such a car is coming back, even despite the demise of the GTO. Audi has their A5/S5, BMW has always had its 3-series coupes, the 335i coupe in particular, as well as the 1-series....Mercedes is changing the CLK coupes over to "E-class coupes". The Camaro and Challenger to me are even becoming crossovers to the luxury sport coupe market with their IRS and relatively comfy ride. The Infinity G coupes are also very popular. Unfortunately, though, I don't see them straying too far from the transverse-engine/all-wheel-drive method of their current platforms anytime soon. To me, any luxury sport coupes must be primarily RWD!! :)

As far as a revival of the Mark Series goes. I dont see why they can take the Mustang's chassis and make a mark out of it. Sure change the body, interior, switch to irs, change up the suspension. But really how many other cars in Fords line up share the same platform as the mustang? I would think that adding another car would cause production to become cheaper of shared components, and the cost of changing around things to go from mustang to lincoln could possibly be handled partially by the higher msrp.

Sounds good to me...

My local Lincoln dealer called me yesterday and asked if I might be interested in a new Lincoln. Asked if they came out with a replacement for the Mark VIII yet..... well, we all know that answer.... told him to call me when they do! Don't expect any calls soon.

It is my understanding that the current Mustang uses what essentially is the old Mark VIII chassis. If that is so and we are talking about using the Mustang chassis to make a new Mark, something is a little f__ked up.

Actually, I believe the Mustang used the Thunderbird's chassis.... a little different than the Mark's....
