I'd love to go. Of course, I say that every year. I have so much to do to be even close to ready. I will have a travel-friendly pump gas tune on the car though. I always feel so nervous trying to take this thing anywhere. Last year I tightened up a lower shock bolt in Indianapolis. The car was trying to strike fear in my soul. I got back to MN and shortly after, a rear wheel bearing bit the dust. Sometimes I think this car doesn't like to be modded as much as I do.

Stuff happens on the road, last year I broke one on my Billstines. Made it home just fine though.

After seeing the route on the map, it looks like it's going through some very boring parts of the country. I'm guessing this year will be a pass year, because I mainly want to go to Carlisle.

It’s a shorter than most other years which is nice to see.

I couldn't resist plotting it out.
Thanks, but you forget the "lead-in" and "tail-out".

Over 3,150 miles for me! :eek-large:

Considering the official route would not be point to point, I'd expect my trip would be closer to 3,500 miles. I would need at least 2 days on each end plus the 6 day Tour for a 10 day road trip.

I'd love it but I'm not sure the Mrs. could handle being with me in the car for 10 days. :roll_over: LOL

But hey, for once we could be part of the Long Haul Gang. :cool-blue:

I didn't include the Carlisle trip in my itinerary since I would probably go back to work following Carlisle and then leave late Thursday or early Friday to be in LA on Saturday. You could do the Carlisle to Gonzales leg at a rather liesurely pace enjoying the local attractions along the way.

I think being a Long Hauler on the Power Tour could be the beginning of a bucket list! It's going to be a tough sell to get off work that long, I may have to shorten the traditional Carlisle weekend. We'll see.

I love it when the HRPT comes through town! I met JP and got to see his 96 back in 2012 I believe. Hopefully there will be a stop in Pauls Valley, I'd like to meet more people from here, even though I haven't owned a mark in years!

The HRPT officially begins for me when Joe arrives and we road rally the 1,000 plus miles to Gonzales, Louisiana to register the CE as a Long Hauler. :cool-blue:

First day... 1000 plus miles averaging 85 mph just to get to the venue. ;)

Picked up our credentials and proceeded to the center stage to get them time stamped and pick up the obligatory window sticker.

Then we experienced our first breakdown and pulled in our first repair. The blower motor for the AC suddenly got flaky and quit on the way to the hotel. Apparently, condensation had assaulted the PWM blower control. The module was pulled and cleaned with a complimentary hotel toothbrush which then allowed it to resume working. :)

Crisis resolved. ;)

so did it take you 11.76 hours? 'cause 85 is totally the number I calculated that from... :D
