Hello M8-ers:

I'm considering four high performance tires 265/50R16 for my M8. The diameter is exactly the same as the stock 225/60R16 tires, just 40 mm wider (20 mm wider on each side vs. the original tires may not seem much, but they may rub). Anyone has/had experience with this size tires on a M8? I'm worried about clearances. Any intel on this topic is appreciated. Thanks.

This will not fit on a stock wheel. I would suggest 245/50/16 or 245/55/16 since they will fit well.

I'm fairly certain our rims are too thin for any manufacturer of that tire size, but I'm not sure because I was not able to find any tires at tirerack.com in that size.

The widest tires I could find in a 60 series where our rim width falls within the manufacturer's recommended spec is 235. I'm switching to a 45 series on an 18" rim because I'm getting tired of folding the tires over around corners.

245/50/16's worked great on my mark. Wore even, gripped well, and fit fine with no rubbing.

i don't think i'd go any bigger than 245 on a stock rim.
