Does anyone know if you could fit the 2nd gen mirrors on a 1st gen. I happen to see them for the first time this pst weekend and fell in love.

I have a gen 1 (1994)

Whats so special about the Gen 2 mirrors?

With "LOD" Since 1997
I think someone tried to do this before and I don't know what the result was. There would be a lot of work in wiring them up.

I did it, I have second gen mirrors on my 95 LSC. They bolt right on. The wiring was not too hard, just have to run a wire into the door for the turnsignals and tap the wire for the interior or keyhole light for the puddle lamps. The plug needs to be changed too. Just use the one off your old mirrors and splice it into the new, and then make a seperate plug for the lamp wires. They look WAY better than the old gen 1 mirrors.

I dont really remeber how much I paid for the mirrors, it was a while back, but I think it was around $350 for the pair used. Wasn't cheap.

The puddle lamps are under the mirror and light up the floor by the the doors when the car is are unlocked. The mirrors are a little larger than the tiny first gen ones and have LED's that hook into the turnsignals. Basically they are completely different, except for the mounting.

I'll try to get some pics later today with my REALLY cheap digital camera.

I just finished putting in 1997 doorpanels.....now all I need is that neon tail......hmmm.....
