4.0 or 4.2 Jag transmission?

Howdy young gentleman, i was just extending the idear out to see if anyone know of any similiarties between the jaguar 5 or even 6 spd transmission to that of the mark 8's. I personally think it'd be awesome if we could use a jaguar 5 spd in our cars but ya know even if we can't it'd be fun to cry about.

Not even close. That engine is in a family of its own, and isn't anywhere near comparable to the Mark family. Though, in the Lincoln LS or Jag XK8, you could use an Aston Martin DB7 engine and trans. I looked into the project.

I haven't heard anything good about Aston Martin engine reliability.

And i'm not sure if i trust Ford to make a 5 speed yet. I mean, how many years did it take them to work the bugs out of the 4R70W?

Your better off using a tremec 3650 out of an 05' stang, or a T56 out of the 03-04 cobras.

But the '05 Mustang does have a 5 speed auto. Not sure of the nomenclature though.
