88 f-150

I've had my eye on this F-150 for at least the last 20 years or so...as it was my Grandpa's. They sold it this weekend in an estate auction, so I picked it up for $550. It had just had all new tires put on before it was parked in a barn 4 years ago. I put in a new battery and it would crank, but it wouldn't fire up without ether, so I think the fuel pump was out. Anywho, it's going to be a project.

Oh, and here are a couple pics of the babies Joe and I adopted.

We bought the truck kinda for them. Obviously they are too young to know anything about it now, but I'm sure I"ll be working on it for years. Even though it's only got 107k on it, it was a well used farm truck. It's the 300" 4.9 L Inline 6, 5 speed manual with 4X4.

I had already put about 5 gallons of gas into the tank, but I don't know how much gas was still in the (the gauge doesn't work). The truck has 3 fuel pumps on it because of the dual tanks. The pump on the rail had locked up, but was able to be freed with the tap of a hammer.

I only had a handful of tools with me, so that's why I had to have it towed.

I also had a clutch, tie rod, and belt tensioner put on. I should be taking home on Monday. :)
