Redn8: not good enough. That car requires video from a fender mounted HD camera, whilst driving a twisty canyon road.

You can't see the camera from the angle the pic was taken and I just returned from a twisty road ride and call me Norm. I'll put my name on sig.

Norm, bet she really grips the twisties? Friend has a first-gen that has been set up with a lot of take-off SPEC Miata parts and that thing is an absolute BLAST to ride in! It really is your own private roller-coaster.

It's a really fun to drive. It's not made for speed off the line but it will beat most cars in the cornering and handling. I really like driving it, it's a blast to drive. Thanks for asking about it.

I can appreciate a lot of different vehicles from a design/function standpoint. The Miata (MX5) was designed for the lightweight class of automobile, one step up from the KAI class. It was designed for weight/balance and overall handling (much like Hondas later S2000 roadster). I like them for their sharp, crisp handling and for their performance potential.

Thank you very much. That means a lot coming from a Lincoln board. Don't get me wrong I owned a 96 MarkVIII and loved it a babied it and I will do the same with Miata.

Thanks Norm.. I almost called you "Nate" when I posted up there, but thought "no.. that isn't right.." so I went with the safe bet. :)

Nice cars, Bill. Do I see a 70 Challenger peeking out behind the Green MK8?
Thanks. You're close, it's a 71 Challenger which is more rare than the 70. My friend rebuilt it, basically from the VIN number up.

My green car is actually a Mark VIII, totally different from the MK series of vehicles. The MK's have front wheel drive, V6's, and 4 doors. Here's a nice example of one::)

I am not real up on my E-body Mopars, as I was always into B-Body units (I owned a 1965 Dodge Coronet500 Hdtp and still own a 65 Coronet500 convertible). Thanks for letting me know exact year. Grills are different between the two years, correct? Small-block or Big-block car?

My apologies for typing out the Mark VIII as a MK8. Shorthand is a bitch, and I apologize for 'Downgrading' it. :)

Norm, I grew up in a Mopar household and was looked down on for driving/working on/racing them. Once I got out of the house and on my own, I started to grow appreciation for other makes/models. Then I got into road racing/autocrossing and that is where I developed my appreciation for design/function of a platform versus form. You won't find me looking down on anything someone chooses to drive, especially if they drive it with abandon (or how it was designed to be driven I should say). Unless the person is a complete 'tool' in their actions toward others and of their own ride, I will not be harsh toward them or their ride. I can't afford the best stuff, so my rides are easy to pick apart; no sense being 'that guy', if you know what I mean. Enjoy it, drive it like you stole it, and forget those that would 'hate' because it isn't in their narrow idea of what you 'should' be driving!

Always looking good Bill!

Norm, I've never driven a Miata but I definitely appreciate the lighter lower powered cars too. I recently convinced (a 2 year battle) a friend to sell his daily driven very clean '95 Mustang GT for a Focus SVT. He had never owned anything but Mustangs and he absolutely LOVES his Focus SVT. His toy is a 12K mile 700hp Terminator Cobra but he says he's never driven a car more fun than the SVT Focus :big-grin: (I told him!)

Before my Mustang Bullitt I had a Contour SVT and loved it too.

I'll post some photos of the Challenger in another thread. Yes, the grills are different, I was told this one can cost 3 grand for a decent one if you can find it. The engine is a 383.

Don't worry, I give everyone a hard time about the MK name.:)

No worrying here, Bill! I have seen the Mark Eight spelled out so many different ways that it boggles me (not hard to do, simple mind and all).

Was it 72 or 73 that the K-member changed so that you did not need to swap K-members when going from an 'A/LA' engine to a 'B-RB' engine? I remember that I had a big-block K-member swapped into my 65 Dodge convertible so I could run the 440+6 where the Poly-318 sat.

I'll have to check with him on that one.:)
