97 LSC Amp In a 93 ?

Okay, I went to install my new head (radio) unit in the dash of my 93 mark viii with the premium JBL sound system, and I have the wiring diagram. I hooked everything up, I learned the cars speakers had been ripped out. So, ok , I yank the ones out of my 97 and put them in, wire em up - (ALL 8) , And i went to turn it on... nothing.. So im like great, and i cross my fingers and pop the trunk and wham ! The amp had been ripped out. So ... Again.... I go to my 97 lsc (That also has the same JBL sound system, except the 97 has the phone integration). I go to plug it in, I plugged in the two big ones, and notice that two wires from each plug had been cut. And it was cut right AT the connection so theres no way i can re-strip and reconnect them. Now do I go and steal the plug off the 97? I actually plan on keeping it one day...

But I notice the 93 has yet another blue plug, Is this for the phone? I dont even know if my 93 has or had a phone, unless they all come with it, idk. But it wont plug in anywhere in the back of this amp from the 97

I looked on the wiring diagram, and the 2 wires that are cut on one of the plugs says it goes to the Left Front speaker. And the two other ones on the other plug that are cut says it goes to the right front tweater.

My 93 Does not have a 10 disc cd changer, I cant tell if one was there or not, it doesnt look like it did. But the diagram shows it there but is that optional?

I have no sound what so ever, Are these four cut wired the reason I have no sound? Will the 97 amp work in the 93 ? Or is it because there is no disc changer? Thanks for any info

The inputs from the radio to the gen 2 amp are different than the gen 1 amp. The output (speaker) plugs are the same.

I just connected a gen 2 amp in my red Mark. I spliced in a pigtail from a gen 2 for the input connector.:)

93 and 94 jbl amps fit 93-94, 95-98 jbl amps all interchange between 95-98, like bill did, he used a harness pig tail i think from me wasnt it bill? and he made the 95-98 amp in his 93-94
your best bet since someone butchered everything already is rewire and go all after market.

The wires are the same color. Yes Jamie, I used the pigtail that you sent me. Thanks again.

You should be able to pull the pins out of the speaker plugs and solder short wires to them, to reconnect them to your cut up harness. Or see if Jamie can send you some pigtails and connect them to your harness.

The 2 big plugs are the speaker wires, the small one is the input from the radio, that's all you need to connect.

Off subject, Jamie, while you're here, did you ever save a gen 2 passenger's quarter panel air extractor for me yet?:D
