i was at the junk yard the other day helping a buddy get parts for his s-10 and saw that they got a new mark VIII in. so i go over and start looking at it and notice that it has coils on it. i already have t-bird coils on the front so i snatched the springs off of the rear of the mark. once i got them out i saw that they had 97 t-bird written on them they were just setting in the stock mark lower arms and on the stock mark bag brackets up top. i thought we had to have a mount just for the upper springs to work in the rear of the marks. all this car had was spring rubbers on both ends of the springs setting on stock mark mounts. so i walked out with a set of rear coils and a set of black mark VIII lettered floor mats for $28. $10 for each spring and $5 for the floor mats so i feel like a just robbed the yard lol.

they went right in i just pulled the lower shock bolt out and the swap bar link off and lobed the top rubber a little and pushed it with my foot and they slid right in. the rear is setting a little higher then the front is but its not to much of a difference. for the price i can deal with the height difference and the ride is about the same as the bags. next thing i need to do is replace my shocks they squeak and wont rebound on there own. most shocks will push them selves back out a little but these stay where ever i put them so im pretty sure they are shot.

wonder if the make drag shocks for the back of the t-birds or if i can find any that will work back there. i saw some plates on e-bay that bolt on to the stock mark holes and let you run the t-bird shocks vs burning the old ones off. im pretty sure i can make these plates. i dont see the auction now but they were just a lemon shaped piece of 1/2" steel with holes to bolt to the stock mark mounts and a hole in the middle for the t-bird shocks to go through and bolt to.

I think you can find references to drag shocks for T-birds on TCCoA. I have some links stored on another PC somewhere where I researched this once before.
