I'm pretty sure the J-mod is the same for the '98 as it is for the '97.

If you're interested, RobertP in Carthage, NC sells ready to install J-mod kits with the seperator plate pre-drilled to your specifications (mild - medium - extreme). I recommend the middle setting.

I thought that the 98 trans already have SOME of the j-mod already done.... just don't know which ones.

i think the 1 to 2 accumulator was updated as well as they came with mercon v and some other revisions as well

They came with mercon v revised 1-2 an 2-3 accumulator an instead of having a wire harness inside they had a circuit board an a got rid of the one way intermediate bearing to a clutch type I think:thumbsup:

what did you end up doing? Im in the same boat and trying to figure out to just drill what the 98+ crownvic says or follow the Tccoa and drill the #1, #3, #6.....

If you have a '98, follow the crownvic writeup. Otherwise, use the writeup on TCCOA.
