I have seen them on almost all 93's we butchered....and as quickly as I read them, I ignored them.
the only 93 tranny we lunched was the white 93 pearly I "brought back to life"...did a complete service flush on it, updated pan and filter, shift accumulators and took it out for a road test. shifted perfect until 40 miles later we went 2-1 WOT down shift and she went bye-bye.
Old fluid looked like it had chunks in it and both upper and lower accumulator springs for the 1-2 were broken so i figured I'd flog it before I gave it back to the owner...it didn't survive so I swapped in a used 95 tranny.
Funny, when I took the 93 out, the factory torque converter had a sticker on it stating it had been a rebuilt TC from Ford. car only had 70k on it so I was puzzled. I have a picture of the old TC SOMEWHERE.
