ABS/Traction Control Scanner

Is there a inexpensive scanner for our cars that test components and read ABS codes ?

I'm pretty sure that the "Rotunda Star tester" can do this, if you can find one.

Alternatively, a good friend gave me an old Snap-on MT2500 a while back, and although it's a bit complicated, it can do ABS also. Just make sure yours has the appropriate "module" (GM - Chrysler - Ford -Jeep) and "keys" (blue circuit board looking things)

I've seen these go for under $100 on the auction site.. You may find 'em on things like CL/Facebook, too.

A friend of mine has the Snap On as well, it works great, I've used it often for the gen 2's.

You can count the blinking abs light flashes with the gen 1 system.

That's good information if I ever pick up a first generation . My M8 is a 97 I figure for a $100.00 it's well worth having a scanner one trip to the dealership will cost me well over that.
