I started a thread about 2 weeks ago about needing a new daily driver. Here's why:

My doggie in the passenger seat (Don't worry, everybody was alright)

He somehow took a chunk out of the rear wheel

Here's the idiot's car that hit me

The last picture at the Towing company's lot. You can see the damage to the front suspension. There are parts of his car stuck between the tire and wheel!

Of course the Insurance company totalled it. I got $5700 for it. I didn't even consider buying it back as I don't have the time or space to deal with a junked car.

My friend had her mustang wrecked similarly and it cost 1800 to have all the damage fixed, a little surprising since the first quote to fix was almost 4k

That sucks any story on the accident

How much was the buy back?
Maybe you could of sold it to me.
I didn't even ask about buying it back. I just didn't want to deal with a broken car.

I have a spare set of wheels with Goodyear X-Ice toes on them, almost brand new, I'd your want to buy those?

I was happy with $5700, but then again, I did buy it for $6800 two and a half years ago. It was really clean, except for the dog hair.

Hope you kept those Octastar hubcaps.. They're getting pretty tough to find..
No, I didn't save them. Didn't even think about it. The only things I grabbed from that car was the trunk cargo net, cd magazine, and the jack.

People seem to be getting worse at driving lately, There's an intersection by my house that people always seem to want to turn left at when they don't have an arrow and are supposed to yield. I've almost been hit countless times there.

sorry about the wreck. Insurance companies will throw offers out there hoping to low-ball people. My 95 got backed in to. The grill, brow, bumper, hood, HID housings, core support...all damaged. It was "totaled" they said ($2700 worth of damage).
They put me in a rental(at the other truck's expense) and offered me $1700.
I paid $2k for the car, it was clean, had Octastars, HID's, but also had 200k on the clock.
I told them to get back to me with a REALISTIC offer while I drive THEIR rental for a while.
They came back at $4300
Yea, I KNOW!
I thought about it for about 1.26 seconds and took it. Bought it back for $375, took it to my brother in law's shop(parts car heaven), yanked my bad-ass stereo set up, slapped in the stock radio, yanked the damaged parts and fixed it in a couple hours then sold it to him for $1500 and bought my 98 LSC!

It was actually a blessing because at 200k miles, there was no way I could sell it to anyone for what I paid since the only people that seem to like these cars are US nut-jobs, and we're too smart to pay that for one of these. I just knew the car was nice and had good parts so I bought it initially.

Glad you weren't screwed over, got a good pay out. Time to move on and find another....or not.

Doggie and you are ok, so that's what counts
