Air ride stays up

The check air ride comes on as soon as you get up to freeway speed. It stays up, doesn't seem to vent to freeway height. Normally measures 27" from ground to lower part of fenders. Now it sits at 28"-29". Changed the module a couple of years ago for a different problem. does it vent at the compressor? Good news, the bags hold air real good.

Yes, the vent valve is part of the compressor.

Sounds like the module knows when to vent but perhaps there is a wiring fault to the vent valve, the vent valve is stuck closed or the vent solenoid has failed.

Does it lower when parked?

Stays high when parked, about an inch more than normal. Pulled the battery for 10 min, and was hopeing it just had a brain-fart, no luck stayed the same. I kinda remember using a jumper wire to make it operate all the solenoids, one after the other.

That's the same problem I had with my air ride. Didn't get it to highway speeds and the 'check air' light didn't come on while driving in town. Sadly, I won't be having that problem any more due to changing out suspension. No one around here had any idea how to fix this without the 'New Jersey' Machine!!

12v at the bag solenoid will open the bag to let air in or out, pull plug at the compressor and the blue white wire run the solenoid at the compressor... ground white, 12v to blue will open the vent. open bag, open vent it should vent down, if not vent is plugged.

There is nothing to be sorry about, I love my sprung Mark.
As far as the machine Bill has a great thread about testing the system.
I personally was never one for putting a band aid on a bullet hole.
If you cant change the whole system why bother IMHO.
Still there are those that want to keep their cars original and that's cool.
For me i wanted a Mark that would take the turns like my Vette.
And still ride like a Lincoln for my application springs worked best.
To each his own there is no right or wrong.
It's your car do as you like Peace Bro!

I choose "AIR". Bill's test sounds great, but I remember using a jumper wire at the plug near the hood alarm switch, that you jump from gnd to #3 or #4, and with the key on it would activate each solenoid one at a time, only once, then you have to turn key off and back on to do again. You can hear each solenoid click, in a quiet closed garage. A few years ago I bought an INOVA OBD 1 -2 tester. Finally read how to use it on a gen 1. There's one test that activates every solenoid in the car. It states that your going to hear a lot of clicks going on. Wife drove it yesterday, and reports that she heard a clunk when it went into OD. When it rains it pours. Love the car, but it's hate time ha ha.

I hooked up the tester. It activated all the air ride solenoids, compressor came on, and then it vented. I'll try it again later.

I have pretty much bypassed the factory air ride, never liked the air up, lower at speed that the factory ride does. I love what the air ride can do but the parts are getting hard to find Its getting to the point were aftermarket bags will be needed or fabbed up to keep the air.

Like to see what you find out.
