All I can say is "Wow"!

I gott give the guy credit. Those are some good skills. If the cops were doing the pit correctly it would not have mattered. Pitting on a bridge? Thats begging for trouble. Also, the car that pits is supposed to spin around and block the car in....he just keeps going alowing the guy to regain control and drive off.

If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

I thought that the officers werent supposed to use the Pursuit Intervention Technique at above 35 MPH or so? That car was definately above that. I'd be screwed when he hit me from the right side too as i have only pulled out from a right hand skids hit from left using PIT, well at least thats all we had in classes. Anti Terrorisim Flight and Avoidance Tecniques. I guess once youre going backwards and can see past the white smoke, you turn the wheel the other way once you feel what youre witch way your car is skidding and use the centrifigual force to right it again. (same tecnique, but reverse for the other direction) But it was cool cause we got to ram cars at road blocks (you hit them at 90 degrees to centerline of axles with right or left side of bumper and floor it) to smash them out of youre way, and learn bootlegs and J turns in 15 PAX vans and Suburbans. They would have concrete barrier course set up in abandoned town and stage attack scenerios to train you how to react to diff situations. While they jumped out in front of you and shot at us with paintball guns chasing from behind. A window shot to the drivers side would be instant disqualification signifying a head shot. Or if they got your right rear passengers window you'd fail too. You had to get to "safehaven" accross town without getting stopped or killed from the paintballs.

That video kicked butt.
Too bad we cant rent out a large parking lot like super wallmart and set up cones to go around a course for best times with "rubbing allowed". We would all enter with $200.00 POS winter rat cars and see who could make it through the cone course with best time. (cheating allowed) Like dropped oil slicks, nails, smokescreens, EMP devices to kill thier ignition,..ok im done sorry. Whos in? I know of the perfect old 80's caprice with a 305 i could get from junkyard real cheap. haha

Precision Immobilization Technique. A 35 mph policy would not be very practical. I dont recall ever being in a pursuit at or below 35 mph. I try to use air service as much as possible anyway.

Edit: are you originally from the west coast or something? They love to come up with weird names or rename things out there for some reason. From Vegas where I went to instructor school to Florida we call it precision immobilization technique. I seem to remember Cali or some western state calling it what you did.

If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

Yeah, that is awesome. I live about 40 minutes north of Oklahoma City (where that occured), I remember seeing that on the news like 3 weeks ago, the driver was I believe a 17 year old kid, and that was a stolen car. He's got some skills though. Chris
