Sounds like I'm about your height. "darn near" six foot. I drive more or less "like a pimp." seat pan up in the front, down in the rear, and the seat back reclined a fair bit. Luckily, I find this driving position to be very comfortable, and it serves me well without complaint. If you've seen many of my posts, I'm often doing 1000 mile plus marathon drives in it.
A couple years back, I did hear some discussion about a "pin" that could be removed from the seat tracks, and some subsequent reprogramming of the power seat to gain another inch or so of rearward travel? I didn't look into it too closely, as I'm happy enough with my current configuration.
Kirk Stromberg (and others, I'm sure) are a fair bit taller yet, and still fit in these things. I'm sure everyone has a trick. I think the cars that lack a sunroof have a bit more headroom, but my '97 does have one. Sounds like your car does also.
