Any tall guys or gals drive a mark 8?...I'm maybe 5'11" to 6' and I have to fit my head into the groove where it dips in between the sunroof and side window lol. By the end of the day my posture must be much worse cuz I fit in the car much more comfortably lol.

Anybody tried modifying their seat to make more space?

Sounds like I'm about your height. "darn near" six foot. I drive more or less "like a pimp." seat pan up in the front, down in the rear, and the seat back reclined a fair bit. Luckily, I find this driving position to be very comfortable, and it serves me well without complaint. If you've seen many of my posts, I'm often doing 1000 mile plus marathon drives in it.

A couple years back, I did hear some discussion about a "pin" that could be removed from the seat tracks, and some subsequent reprogramming of the power seat to gain another inch or so of rearward travel? I didn't look into it too closely, as I'm happy enough with my current configuration.

Kirk Stromberg (and others, I'm sure) are a fair bit taller yet, and still fit in these things. I'm sure everyone has a trick. I think the cars that lack a sunroof have a bit more headroom, but my '97 does have one. Sounds like your car does also.

I don't really have a problem until I wear a helmet at the track. :p

The sunroof or lack thereof does make a difference since I do notice just a tad more headroom in my '96 which lacks the sunroof option.

I'm 6'1" and very comfortable in the Mark VIII's.

I set the seat all the way down and tilt the seat back a bit, for the extra headroom.

I think the gen 1 has more headroom, only because the seat foam is thinner, and is worn more than the gen 2 seat foam.:D

Yea I've tried reclining my seat back, but just can't get comfortable like that. Feel like I'm too far from steering wheel

6'3" here. Bottom is all the way back and raised up, the back portion is sorta pimpish and the steering wheel out. No issues.

Fwiw, I have a shaved head *Coughbladingcough* so that gives me an extra inch or so to the headliner.

I'm 6'5" Let's just say my arms are fully extended at the track with the seat reclined and helmet on. LOL I have a sunroof as well. It definitely takes a lot of seat recline for it to work for me. This year with the racing seats I might be sitting on the floor which will be a good thing. I don't need a booster seat, that's for sure.

Been around Mark VIII for 19 years when I got my 97, never knew 1st gens did not have that option. :D
Yes, the first gen's only have the manual, 6 position, steering wheel tilt.

You don't hear much about these because they always work.:)

6' 1" and a bit round so mine is all the way back as well. Not an issue until I have to wear a helmet.
