Arnott air struts

I have a set of Arnott front air struts for Moose I bought from a member here. There seems to be missing something, the solenoid perhaps? Attached is a photo. The air lines don't hook up and a call to Arnott seemed to indicate they do have the solenoids.

Is that what's missing?

I posted this in Arnott's thread also but I'm not sure how often they check it.

Yes they don't have the solenoids. Just reuse your old ones. You may need to trim the filter on the end to allow them to seat fully.

I'd clean up the solenoid O ring sealing surfaces while you're at, it looks like there might be some surface rust there.

... but use new "o"-rings when using your solenoids and lubricate them with some di-electric grease.

Thanks guys, I actually asked the mechanic if he tried to use the old solenoids but didn't quite get a straight answer. Online new ones are only about $20 each and come complete with O-rings. i think I'll just buy them and be done with it.

Yes. He clearly threw the old ones out with the old struts. He may have to remove the solenoid end caps and/or trim the end. I think the front solenoids do not drip-in fit. When you buy the Arnott's new they come with instructions on how to do this. You have probably heard it before, but don't expect the ride to feel the same. The Arnots are mushy.

Good luck using those. I pulled a set off my Pearl 98 with 98,000 miles. I don't know how long they were on the car. Because they were rattling inside.
I heard the shocks bind up after a while.:(

Well so far so good. The ride is definitely harsher though but it doesn't bother me any. Now for the rears!
