Marauderville XI is invading metro Atlanta this week, and the Marauder brotherhood is heading to Atlanta Dragway this Friday, 9/20/13 for some T&T and grudge match racing.

Since I am a honorary Southern MM member, you know I have to go and represent both SMM's and LOD! :)

I will be trying out Aric's new "AutomaGic" tune, to see what it is like going down the track in drive, instead of manual shifting The Mark  As a backup, I do have the manual tune in the xcal just in case traction becomes a issue.

I also have the new KB BAP installed, so I hopefully have 17 volts going to the fuel pump instead of the 11 volts I assume I had at SSHS12.

Hope to see you there! :)

Had some fun at the drag strip last night. The Mark tried out Aric Carrion at Injected Engineering AutoMagic tune, and I think it liked it! All I need now is some traction!

Lookin' good Mike! Seemed like some weird torque converter stuff going on in the first video. But holy cow, the pull at the big end of the track looks strong with that tune! This all over again with traction I would like to see. Perhaps the lower profile tire doesn't have enough bite anymore, eh? :D

Thanks JP and Kirk. :)

Here's the time slips. Traction and air was not favorable, 2k + DA. Just about everyone I talked to was at least a second off their PB.

lol my 2.2 60's and a heat soaked engine from a 3 hour bumper to bumper drive to the track (100*+ IAT's) kind of tell the story for me :)

But the real story here is, I left the shifter in drive!

It was nice to be back at the track though. First time this year.

I hope I'm not sounding like a negative nancy and I don't intend to be but I am stunned! You got me on that one Mike. My function of perception must be way off cause I swore it looked like it pulled harder in these videos, particularly the second one where the converter seemed a bit more behaved. I'm also surprised that the DA would have that negative of an effect on ETs. My Personal best was at almost 1500ft DA and I have been told about a tenth for every 1000ft higher. I think there may be a chance that the auto tune slowed you down a bit and perhaps some tweaks are in order. BUT, I could also be a complete idiot again and perhaps with dead hook and sea-ish level DA your car will be back in the 11s. To be very honest, I am surprised that you have had such issues with your car in terms of transmission shift schedule in drive. Your car has been on the dyno way too many hours for you to have been dealing with this for what has turned into years. I hate to say it, but it kind of to me at least makes a tuner look bad. I mean c'mon. How long does it take. But I'm glad you're moving forward. It's so much nicer just mashing the skinny pedal and going. lol

I don't think your being negative, Kirk. Just keep in mind it is not just the DA that I was talking about. The majority of my time loss was in the first 60'. I had some serious spin going on with the tc off.

The story with the auto shift trans is a long one, and in all honesty should have been resolved years ago. Aric apologized, and I accepted. He made it right.

The reality of it, I dropped the car off on a Thursday, and picked it up the next day fixed, as seen in my track videos.

Tuning the trans is a separate deal from tuning the motor, so I do not believe I am down on power. If anything, I might need adjustments on the 1-2 and the 2-3 shift point, as my OBD reader registered 7259 rpm's on the 2-3 shift shown on the video.

Probably not making optimum power at 7259.

Here is a comparison with a PB pass I made in 2008.

I picked The Mark up from Aric's today. Got the oil changed, Aric cleaned up and soldered the BAP wiring, and worked on the shift points.

He still wants to fine tune while I drive him around, to make sure the around town driving experience is better - mostly when to lock up the torque converter and when to switch on the overdrive. It is very close to being just right :)

He also plans to put the car back on the dyno in two weeks to make sure the a/f is where it should be with the new BAP. 10/26 & 11/2/13 are drag racing events I plan on attending, and wants to be sure the car is not running lean.

Here's a compare sheet I put together from the last track day compared to some personal best runs to try and validate shift points with Aric. He also went through his dyno files to see where the power starts to fall off. That said, he adjusted the 1-2 & 2-3 shift points to keep it in the power band.
