Baumann shift kit

What stage are you guys using? Should I go straight to stage 5 and reprogram my line pressure to mild settings?

I had stage 5 the only time I used that kit. It was a serious shifting kit.
You will get parking lot speed jerking, no doubt, but WOT is to die for.

If you have a high stall, it will soften up a bit anyway.

5 was too harsh for me, I think I went with 4. At the time, my work drive was stop and go traffic. I mean, I loved it, wanted it, but was worried about snapping my neck so frequently on a daily basis.

My previous tranny in the '93 had the Baumann kit set to level 5 and the torque settings midrange. The chip was programmed to accomodate this by Lonnie. The result was 'quick' but not harsh partial throttle shifts. But at WOT, the shifts were serious business.

The addition of the high stall torque converter softened up the midrange even further but WOT shifts were still the same. I often remarked if you went WOT you had best be on a dry straight roadway with good traction or the 1-2 shift would send the car sideways in a heartbeat.

Trixie, do you have SCT programming as well that modifies the line pressure or just the Baumann shift kit?
I had the shift kit first, and that was with my stock gears IIRC. 3.73's after that and Xcal programming afterwards. I think the shift kit was prior to the gears. I know it was prior to any chip or program.

I think I set mine in the middle and I had the car tuned with line pressure increased, to me it was just right for everyday aggressive street driving.
