Bonjour

Commander Cody

Hi everyone, I'm Andrew, and I am new here as you may already have deduced. I am the very proud owner of a very nice 1988 Lincoln Town Car, base model. It is black with the black vinyl half top, and a black or dark blue interior (I am partially colorblind, can't distinguish shades that are close). It has some customization, which includes a mahogany Grant GT steering wheel, the front end has been lowered 2 inches courtesy of Eaton Detroit, the rear lifted an inch with springs from a limousine, dual side exit exhaust, and a pair of chrome 15x8 wheels in the rear with painted steelies up front. The car is in excellent shape for it's age, and was owned by a World War II vet before me. He kept it in the garage, thankfully, because the paint and vinyl are original and flawless. The car was at Carlisle this year, but it was fully stock save for the exhaust. And bonus points to whoever figures out what the username stands for. On this forum, I hope it isn't a mystery.

Welcome to the LOD!

If you are talking about the Commander Cody version of Hot Rod Lincoln, (it had a Lincoln Engine:)) I hope you're talking about the Live version from "We've got a live one here". That's the best version.:D

Welcome, And commander cody is a character from Star Wars
That is one possibility, but Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen is American country rock band and the group’s best-known hit is a version of the country song Hot Rod Lincoln. So i would go with that.

They got the name from the hero Commando Cody: Sky Marshal of the Universe from a 12-episode science-fiction serial made in 1952.

Lucas probably looted that name from the 1952 serial as well for his Clone Trooper officer which appears in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
