I got to jesses house today after an extended flight with a fuel up delay. Jesse picked us up at the airport and took us to apparently the seediest place in town. We went in and ate and about an hour later when we came out, jesses passenger window was broken and mine and Meredith's suitcases as well as my backpack were gone. All my belongings and clothes and brand new lod BOD shirt, iPod, headphones medicine, all gone.

Good grief... reminds me of a couple places I've encountered over the years. :(

I wonder if this type of thing would be covered under travel insurance?

I've spent most of the day talking to police officers, who don't even have time to come out and do a report. I wasn't prepared to spend money buying new clothes. Luckily I had my wallet shield and sunglasses on me but my prescription glasses are gone and my good sweatshirt and **** I can't replace. And my iPod and my wonderful Bose ear buds. I guess I wasn't meant to have any of it. I'm just angry about it.

Fml $120 at American eagle for some clothes and $180 at target for socks underwear and other essentials some savages stole from me. Not including the keys I'll have to replace and the other stuff I can't replace.

Is there a goodwill/salvation army near by? Not that you want to buy used underwear but I get 90% of my clothing from those fine establishments.

Where did he take you? Watsonville?

Maybe it is from living in Ca my whole life, but I NEVER leave anything visible in my car. Always in the trunk - if it is on the seat, they will break the window to get to it.

We stopped in San Jose to eat eventually went to Watsonville. San Jose is where the damage was done. I already purchased new stuff, wasn't really equipped to buy it all but whatever. I'm sticking with fml. It's how it goes for me, always.

Tough break, Mike. I'm sorry to hear this. Just try not to let this ruin your trip. Make sure you still have some fun out there. :)

That suck, crime can happen to anyone at anytime, claim it on the car insurance. I live in a real nice area now but I keep stuff out of view, I even lock my car in my garage, old habit from living between Newark and Jersey City most of my life.

Really sucks. It's so personal. I've never had my car broken into but my house has. I know how mad and upset you are.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's a very personal violation when your items are stolen.

I was born in San Jose. However, that was 30 years ago. I grew up in Salinas - not far from Watsonville, hope you enjoy your stay in that area. I love it, still call it home.

Your homeowners insurance insures your personal belongings anywhere in the world - usually, from theft. If it is worth your deductible, something to look into.
