I need a new right rear caliper... do I need to get oem or can I get something like the A-1 Cardonne for cheaper with the same performance?
In a lot of cases, the malfunctioning of the "good" side is not far behind the defunct side. With rotors, it is easy to tell how much you've got left. With calipers, there are no outward clues. Why is it better to replace both of them? Essentially they are stand alone units but feed off the same brake line. I don't know how to explain what I'm getting at...but it sounds like you're talking about that "rule of thumb" if you change one change them both. Kinda like when dealers/mechanics try to sell you two rotors if you only need one. Ya know?
