Center trunk light

This question probably has been asked a dozen times:
Does the center light only work when applying the brakes.
This is the car I bought out of Florida with the moldy rear light.
I bought one on eBay and it only works with the brakes
Any thoughts as to this question. Jack:)

If you are speaking of the neon, NO. Also with parking/headlights. Dimmer than brakes. If bright sun out there, you may not see it.

Neon Brake Light

Hey Guys,

These are expensive too replace, even harder to find. I got one the other day from a friend of mine that was cracked, busted, and all messed up. I decided to find "other options". Options that were more cost effective and cosmetically appealing.

What I came up with will save you money, is easy to repair, and will only cost you about $40 and a little creativity. I went to Pep Boys and bought a 40" LED light strip, cored my light bar; taking out the defective bulb, the ballast, and now I not only have a bright rear strip, but also ADDITIONAL turn signals integrated into it. FREAKING AWESOME!!! DETAILS ARE COMING.

Will it come on with the parking lights and then get brighter when you hit the brake pedal? Owners of the Gen 2 would like for any replacement to work much like stock. Many times the cause of failure is a bad ballast, and simply replacing it with either a good used one or with a "Glitch" version of the ballast will have it working again. If the neon tube is actually cracked and the neon gas escaped/evaporated than it gets a little more difficult and expensive to replace.

Like JP indicated we'd like to see pics and details when you have them. $40? Hmm....I'm interested if it comes on with the lights and then BRIGHTER with the brake pedal.
